I'm back!.. kinda
I didn't pick up a thirdgen, but I'm helping the brother-in-law with his.
89 Formula with 60k miles. Was originally red but was re-painted whatever blue is used on the Dodge Viper. Black cloth interior and black 17" Torq Thrust style wheels (no idea the difference between TT, TT2, TTM, etc.) with a polished lip.
Currently an automatic LB9 with nothing but a cutout and a Dynomax exhaust.
Just picked up an L98 for it yesterday that we'll be cleaning up and freshening up over the next couple weeks, and we should be picking up a set of ceramic coated Hedman shorties w/ Y-pipe this week.
Short-term plans aren't much.. drop in the L98 with the headers, a CAI, and port the plenum and LIM quite a bit. Maybe throw in a converter with the new motor if we can come across one cheap enough. Once that's all done, it needs some tint and lowering springs.
He'll be happy for now going from mid 15s to mid-high 13s. Once he gets used to that and saves up some money, it'll more than likely get some head work, a small cam (like a 212/218 or something similar), and some runners.

You need more than just lowering springs if you are going to lower the car. You really do need to get an adjustable panhard bar, shocks designed for lowered cars, adjustable lower control arms, or LCA relocation brackets, and you need to do the same up front. You need to do this in order to retain the stock suspension geometry when the car gets lowered. The car won't handle like it should if this isn't done correctly. Suspension should never be overlooked on performance cars.

Oh, and lets not forget a watts link in the rear instead of a panhard bar to move the rotation point to the center and keep the axle centered during tavel.
