I don't see anyone on here doing anything at all besides selling off thirdgens and thirdgen parts. No one wants to hang out anymore so I stopped posting stuff to do.

I deleted my air tubes off my car and did a complete tune up...it's running great!
was a pida though....still in search for some restoration parts and then some...but i'll drive it from time to time...been to couple of car shows in Lemont and Lombard a few times...

moving soon (yeah again)...I don't recommend anyone to move into Briarbrook apartments in Wheaton!...I learned my lesson!

got the 6 speed in and think I have vibrations from the harmonic balancer so that might need to be replaced. Nothing else is going into the bird getting ideas for the nova

Well ive been sort of busy on my dads camaro we put 4.10 gears, sfc,adjustable panhard bar, panhard bar relocation bracket crane cams 1.6 rr on and some fabricated aluminum valve covers , I would deffinatly be down for a meet sometime i still have not met any of you guys

I'm doing more breaking stuff then racing.

So far this year, I've broken two T5s and two rear ends. The first rear end stripped 7-8 teeth off the ring gear after a 3-4 shift on the front straight at Grattan in June. We put in a spare 3.73 4th gen rear that I'd bought for $150. The next day the T5 broke in practice at the same spot on a 3-4 shift. See ya, 4th gear.

At Autobahn Country Club in July, my MSD box crapped out on Saturday and then Sunday during qualifying the T5 crunched and locked out of 4th gear. I ended up running the whole race in 3rd gear and it stayed together for me to grab 3rd place.

Just this past weekend, I was at Road America and the pinion nut backed off during the race while I was trying to chase down the Mustang in 3rd place. I nursed it around for 4 laps until it got so loud I thought it was going to come apart. Turns out, I did at the right time, the pinion nut only had 3-4 threads holding it on at that point. That caused the gears to eat into the Auburn on decel. Good bye to one good set of 3.73 gears and an Auburn posi. At 6pm, We started stripping down a spare 3.42 4th gen rear end I had bought for $100 and for some reason the right axle wouldn't come out. We had to beat it out with a hammer. After that we looked closer and the right axle tube was bent forward almost and inch. So, we decided to do a frankenstein rebuild. We tore the carnage rear end down, took it over to the hose, sprayed all the metal shavings out of it with a hose, then took the guts out of the bent housing and put it in the good housing. We finished it up at 2am and woke up at 7am to put it in the car to make 8:20am practice. Buttoned the car up, ran it through the gears on the jack stands, gave it a clean bill of health, took it out for practice. The car seemed down on power, but I figured it was just the 3.42 gears since it made me come out of the corners at lower RPMs. Took it out for qualifying and after 6 laps, the car popped twice coming on to the front straight and shut off. I coasted it into the pits and it wouldn't re-fire. I figured it was in the valvetrain. I'm shifting it at 6800RPM on a stock crank and stock TBI balancer (thank god for Eagle rods and ARP rod bolts ), but the heads are still stock except for Comp beehive springs and Harland Sharp roller rockers. I pulled the dist cap to see if the timing chain or crank broke and it was moving, but it seemed to be skipping teeth. I pulled the dist and half the teeth on the dist. gear were worn away, which took out 3-4 teeth on the cam. So, we were done for the weekend.

In conclusion, don't build a race car unless you like sleepless nights and cashless days...

PS- racing on stock parts blows and don't believe Comp Cams when they say to use a melonized distributor gear with a hyd. roller cam. ALWAYS USE BRONZE.

Hopefully I can work on my car shortly, Not much time left before Indy in sept. Though at this rate I'm not sure if I'll drive the car there simply because I won't have had enough seat time to see if it will be reliable for the trip.

I got my *** kicked by a power steering line on a J/Y car. Tried to get the line of a J/Y car because the replacement line is $90 and the line on my daily driver has sprung a leak; really big leak at full lock.

Perhaps my daily driver woes will make me fix my GTA. It would be nice to drive it again.

Im up for a BWW meet if we cna get a decent showing. In the meantime I was trying to get the Maro done for that Indy event but it doesnt look good now. Turns out that the motor wouldnt start because of low compression. Im getting 40-60 psi on most cylinders while cranking and 0 psi on one!!! So I gotta tear the engine apart find otu whats screwed up, finish putting the interior together, and paint the car to make it looks somewhat presentable by then...probably not going to happen.
