I'm an aircraft armament systems specialist (Weapons) in the US Air Force. My job is to maintain weapons release and targeting systems and load conventional and nuclear bombs and cruise missiles onto the B-52 and ensure said weapons make lots of dead terrorists...and I am very good at my job.

Systems admin/fabricator/machine setup/jack-of-all-trades at Midway Displays in Bedford Park. We make displays/parts for retailers and the P-O-P industry.
Pay isn't that great, but I'm just doing my time until I get the call for a Local 134 apprenticeship.
I am going to miss the admin part of the job, but maybe find some way to cross back over later in life.

But really, I didn't know that, besides... it was all legal.
So when I get my car done are we still going to run them?
Anyway,
I have spent the last 13 years as an Industrial Maintenance Mectrician (mechanical and electrical factory maintenance) in 2 local packing houses, and a pudding factory in town (Dean Foods). I am now currently working as a Production Technician at Borg Warner. Our line makes one of the critical parts for GM's new 3.9L engine with "Variable Cam Timing". (and that is all I can say about that)

I have both Mechanical and Electrical engineering degrees, but have found that the CHEESY salesguy gig is the way to go. For the last six years I've sold , and engineered, military and OEM power systems and components. Mostly DC Power stuff. Do a ton of military, and also do some telco power plants along with power modules for many server companies. Awesome job with an awesome company. Travel is considerable, but they compensate very well. This is definitely cake, after all, I started out as an electrician in the WV coalmines

Re: What does everyone do for a living?
I have thought about the turbine engine in an F-body.. Putting in the forward mod and rear mod wouldn't be a major problem, except for having to convert to diesel. I would have to worry about the heating issues though. The 2 main problems that I have ran across would be the Decu (Digital Electonic Control Unit) and some way to control the RPM's. All of the turbines that I work on are 1500 hp - 3000 hp. They all contain a reduction gear box that is a 7:1 ratio. If the power turbine shaft is spinning at 35k rpm, I would have to design a serious transmission to hold up to the rpm's without blowing apart. You could effectively use all the components with some minor modifications though. Only bad thing about the AGT1500 that I work on almost daily is it uses 7 gallons for starting and 5 gallons a minute to run. But, there wouldn't be too much that would beat you in a 1/4 mile, to include a gas station.
