I just have absolutely no time for this right now.
First of all my water pump went south, sure it works but the pulley is just whiney as hell.
Second, I have my production 4 class meeting for my movie, and I can't reschedule it. Thats what I will be doing for living so I have to be there, cuz its my movie.
Third, I just spent 55 bucks fixing my whining problem only to figure out its not the belt. But too late to return it.

I will probably be able to come over and get Tim's car ready for the track, but I have to go to the meeting so I, unfortunatelly, won't be at the track.

I was there for all the meetings, so I should be forgiven at least once. Damn it.

Sorry boys, I won't be attending tonight. I have to go get my dad's GTO fixed. It received a nasty dent on Sunday (due to my new rear axle). So it looks like I will have to wait until April.

Fire?!??!!???

I didn't get home until 8 p.m., and had other things I needed to do. I considered coming out and spectating, settled for watching the live streaming instead.

Looks like you had good weather after all. Pretty good air, too.

Just for grins, I pulled the weather station out. DA 7400' - the barometric pressure is low due to the incoming front, otherwise the DA would have been better. Said the Camaro would have run a 14.27, and the '57 a 13.31. . .

Awsome night guys, I just got home. Yea some poor guys grand prix GTP caught fire and melted to the ground! I was at the scales when it was burning, flames were at least five feet out of the engine compartment at that point. It was good to see those that made it out. The weather (other than the head wind) was good. I ran a new personal best 17.23 at 79.6 mph with a R/T of .020. Not too bad for a 305 tbi with 151k! She'll be pulled this winter though, we'll see what Santa brings this Christmas for the RS

Yeah, it was wild - for my first drag race, I was lined up next to Conrad, & just about the time I'm thinking of pulling into the staging area, the guy tells us both to stop, & then everyone starts haulin' butt to the top end of the track! I wasn't too concerned about it until I saw the guys coming back for the second set of fire extinguishers...

I knew it was bad when I saw the fire from behind the starting line... I really felt bad for the guy.

I really don't have anything to report, it was my first-ever time drag racing (well, at a track ) so my times were all over the map. The only thing I was really glad about was that on my last run I got a .036 RT, but the d@mn turbo DSM I was lined up against flat-out DEVOURED me with a 60' time of 1.767 (compared to my 2.354), & I just wasn't quite able to run him down...

Besides, Garett beat my RT by nearly half, so I don't even have that to brag about!!

On the off-chance that someone's curious about my best time, I've cleverly hidden it in my vBGarage, as I'm not really thrilled with it... *chuckle*

All in all, a really good time, & it was good to see everyone out there tonight!

EDIT: five7, thank you for the DA - I was trying to remember what the temp was so that I could get a rough idea of what my "corrected" times would be, so that helps a lot!

I've gotta say that the air seemed like it was really good tonight, I spent years driving the car at sea-level before, and it didn't seem like it wanted to spin as much then as it did tonight at altitude!!

I got some pics from tonight and I will try to get them posted before Garett and I take off out of town thur-mon. It was nice to have 5 cars from the club and 6 members. I didn't take my car it wasn't worth the money to have it run like crap. Besides I got to be the photographer!
It was great to see all you guys race down the track!! Kinda nice to take time to watch everyone else!

I don't suppose you'd know what the correction factor for that would be, would you?? I've just spent too much time trying to find an online calculator that would correct my time from that 7400' & I can't find anything...

The "static" correction factor for Bandimere puts me more-or-less in the ballpark, but my ego's really hoping that there's a little more "correction factor" available for me somewhere...

I don't know how accurate the weather is for the times but you can check here: ADC 2006. Then plug the information into here: Modular Depot : Your source for your 4.6/5.4 Mustang High Performance Needs!. Hope that helps, and I am pissed I wasn't there last night. I probably could have gotten into 14s .

That is pretty cool, I've added it to my bookmarks. Thanks Nick!

OK,that seems a bit more realistic - Plugging my numbers into that gives a corrected 14.33 @ 95.07. I knew that (given the low miles & overall condition) my car should be capable of running somewhere close to that...

it was fun to get out there finally this season wish my car had performed better but I guess 14.20@97 with a passenger is not to bad of a starting point. I did however pull some pretty good 60' times my best ever of 1.89 with a 58 degree temp is pretty good. Also tim just to let you know the cool track temps probably contributed to your limited traction. I have also lost 210lbs from the car since last season which is just as good as more power so I'll get back to work on tuning this beast and hope for some better numbers next year.

Not to burst your bubble, but my experience would say that's pretty generous. I'd expect more like 14.6's at sea level.

It depends on what he has with the engine/exhaust/intake. Like our 360 cid engine with all of the intake stuff (sans ram air setup), bigger exhaust (3" all the way), and stock hood got a 15.298 @ 90.01 at this altitude. Of course I think Tim has a 350 cid and I don't know his exhaust specs or intake specs. It also helps to have the 3.45 posi rear end . I think with our ram air and fiberglass hood, we might be able to dip into high 14s with our car (at perfect track conditions of course).

Not if you know what it ran at altitude. We know what it ran at altitude, so I was basing my "guess" on that. Running my data through the calculator he used showed I'd be running low 12's at sea level - I know it doesn't run low 12's at sea level.

Here is a pic of Tim's and my car waiting for the fire to go out. Not often you can get out at this spot and take a pic.

Wow your cars look really shiny under those lights - nice work! I bet that was a fun race considering you both run fairly close times.
