What are you hoping for with it the current set up? One way or another it will no doubt be the fastest TBI third gen! Good luck, don't break that rear end you still need to get Russes !

Forecast is for the usual "isolated thunderstorms" this afternoon & evening. About a 50-50 chance that Bandimere will get some of it. Last couple of nights it's been to the south.

Of course, there is Club Clash this Friday as well. . .

Well we had ours up there as well, and had a blast. Didn't improve too much but only did two runs. The first run was the best, and I got a 15.298 @ 90.01mph. I finally broke 90mph!!!!!! Anyway, the second run had me spinning through first gear and ended up with a 16 something. The good news is that I weighed it before the race and only gained 30lbs. with more fuel and lighter hood. Oh and I broke the tach . It has been iffy recently and on the 2-3 shift on the second run, it gave up and still isn't working. Will take a look this weekend or next to see if a cable is loose or something. And irocbirdbuilder didn't do too bad with the 2.73 rear end. When we had the 305 with a 3.45, the best we could get was a 17.4 and I think irocbirdbuilder got a 17.6 or something like that.

I drove by about 6:30 and 8:45, at least the rain stayed away. Looks like you had a healthy headwind all evening.

I'll be out there tomorrow evening with the '57 for sure, and if I can get someone to drive the Camaro out there, I'll run both. A co-worker (the one who went out to Pomona with me in 2004) was saying he might be able to go with me.

His mods or mine? I am so confused. Anyway, he at least needs a bigger rear end.

A 17.6 isn't a rear end problem. I'm running 2.93's. Back when it had a 305 I ran 15.8's @ 90 with no 2-3 shift.

Theres's some major tuning needed there.

major tuning and the rear end, had problems all night car just wouldnt pull until about half track....first run i got caught next to the 307 chevelle that wouldnt start under the tower...then at the line..mine started loading up, lights went she bogged real bad so i got on the brake to blow it out and i succeded but broke rear end loose....and thats about all it did all night...it was disappointing but i took alot out of it....tuning, rear end and cowl isolation is in the works and it will be getting boost this winter....mark my words i will make a 12 second pass on a tbi motor...its gonna take time and money and i dont know how much but i will, the motor has the potential...jsut need to get it out of it....and my reactions were ridiculous....3 years away from the track definately toook its toll....looking through some old slips i was making better starts when i was 16......543 was my best all night best et was 17.4 and best 60 foot was a pathetic like 2.7

Marking in the book .

Kidding aside, I am 100% behind you. There is nothing better then 305 runing 12's. Don't give into the 350 nay sayers.

What kind of trap speed did you have? It appears traction is a big problem for both You and me from you 60' numbers. I am really disappointed with numbers you put up, but I know you have much more in ya! If you ever want help with some thing let me know!

Drag Russes rear end up to my shop on a Saturday and we can swap that real fast for ya!!

Heck I swaped a rear end in my car in two hours, by myself ah thank you!
So, you just get that rear end and make sure you get the hoses for the brakes off of that rear end too or you will be making some late night runs to NAPA (cuz no one else carries those lines anymore).
You wanna know how I did it??? I spent the night at Holiday Inn

Wow. My 92 vert 305 tbi stock went 17.6. You need some tuning.

Cool air does wonders. My last 2 runs Saturday were .05-sec off, I realized during the last run that I had forgotten to close off the vent that becomes half of my cool air induction when closed. Good thing those runs were a red-light and broke in the other lane, respectively. . .
