Getting Closer to Having it Running Again

Well we have been working the past few days on our poor Camaro. As some have read, it has had some issues recently. So we went ahead and replaced the fuel pump and fuel sending unit today. The problem we had when we were doing this whole project, is that when we went to lower the axle one of the struts' bolts stripped . So we went ahead and ordered two more Bilsteins, and they should be here tomorrow. We also did the lower rear control arms and panhard bar, as with our autocrossing it should help with the cornering. So on to the fun parts that we ordered:
  1. SLP 1-3/4" Headers
  2. SLP PowerFlo Cat-Back Exhaust (3")
  3. Magnaflow 3" in-out Cat
None the less, tomorrow we should be getting the rest of our parts. The reason we went with the SLP is that with our Edelbrock right now, we ordered the stuff for the 305 so we could pass emissions. Well, the headers are 1-5/8" and the cat is 2-1/4" in and 2-1/5" out. So the car should be able to breathe much easier now. The thing that will take some getting used to is that both pipes that will come from the muffler on the SLP, will come out on the left side and not one pipe each side. Will update once we get it running. The cool thing is that this exhaust is somewhat similar to the one we have on the goat.

It breathes life again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well at least through the headers. Will finish hooking up the exhaust tomorrow. Bandimere, here we come for some time improvements . We hit 15.3 @ 89.7 mph with the "old" setup, so we are hoping to break into the 14s and at least hit 90+ mph.

Well we had it out on the road today. One problem, we had to take it to the muffler shop because the exhaust isn't all the way on. We were going to hook it up and realized that at least one piece is missing so we have to have the muffler shop finish it for us. It was fun though to run it strait from the headers. Hopefully we will have it back by Tuesday.

Been down that road myself! Was it the piece that goes from the Y-pipe to the cat? Because that's what needed to be fabbed up when I installed my SLPs...

As long as everyhting goes ok, we should be going tomorrow. My dad has to work from 12am-5am, then will be working from home the rest of the day. I normally work until 4pm, but if I skip lunch I leave at 3pm. I will ask if he wants to take just the Camaro, or both cars (GTO) beause we will at least take the rear tires for the Camaro.
