Does anybody autocross their third-gen? We race our 92 and always have a blast. One race last year, dad went through timing lights backwards . Would love to see some guys out there when we race. I think we will try to go ut to the BMW autocross event on May 7th. If nothing else, you guys should come watch (it may just make you want to race your car ).

I raced an SCCA race in Cheyenne a couple of year ago, and it was the most fun I have ever had behind the wheel. My car at this point is a little far beyond that type of fun, but would recommend any of our friends to at least try it. Good tires are a must other wise they just get greezy, and its more its more like a timed drift competion. HALONICK, let me know when and where I would like to at least come and watch if times and location can connect.

LOVE AUTOCROSSS!!!!!

From when I raced they only required helments for every racer. I think some of the additional stuff is dependant of the class you would be running. Considering this would be your first outing it would likely be a street tire/ modified class. I don't think that this would require any additonal improvemnts, but may tell you to take your center caps off your wheels unless bolted on. This type of racing will bring out a whole new racer in you! You will start to think about any average turn in tight areas can become obstacles at speed. Super fun!!!!

The BMW autocross website is: Rocky Mountain Chapter BMW Car Club of America. The SCCA autocross is: Rocky Mountain Solo Series Home Page. Let me know if you need anything else. The only major requirement is a proper helmet. Then you will need to check rules for the class that your car will be in.
