Yearly Winter Project Thread
Its the winter time and once again our board is dead so hopefully we can get some post in here again. Since most of are cars wont be seein the road this time of year everyone has their project goin on, tell us what you have planned and workin on.
This is the first time in a few years where my 86 is running I must say that I am very happy with that lol. Just ordered a custom chip today so get my tuning started and got the cold start delete on the way too. Even though not a 4th gen board my plans for that is lookin for an extra set of rims and put drag radials on it and have been lookin into one more mod thats a secret but not much.

Re: Yearly Winter Project Thread
Camaro wise...hmmm. Get it smogged. After that finally install my aftermarket vacuum fuel pressure regulator and crank that fuel pressure up and get this damn thing tuned. install strut tower brace. and nothing else too crazy. well I guess I am pulling the engine and completely resealing it with new rings and all. then something else hopefully if the funds are there.
the firebird will probably be my lil brothers xmas present. gotta few things to do to that. but nothing extreme. my dad wants more of a cruiser for him with some beat in it rather than a racecar and I think that is the smarter thing to do also. just have it sound good, look decent. for a young kid he just needs halfway decent fuel economy. When the car is officially his I will make him join TGO and the facebook page. But I dont wanna ruin the gift, because he does not know it is going to be his yet.

Not a clue. I wish I had an idea, I do know that my 350 had 351hp at the crank, 294rwhp now. Like I said I will be installing my HSR, and nitrous. Ill find out in the spring, I'm thinking about entering that T/A vs. Mustang race in the spring.

Re: Yearly Winter Project Thread
Well it all sounds great guys. I was all set to do the suspension, sfcs, rebuilt 9 bolt posi and 1le rear brakes. But, as a condition of the re-fi I'm doing on my house, I had to replace my roof. Including cutting a foot off all round and reconstructing before re-shingling. There went all the car money! Then my son figured out he can't afford the payments on his car. Guess who co-signed? I now have a 2009 Acura. On the up-side it has about the same size engine as the Firebird but 300 hp instead of 140(ish) plus paddle shifters and all round big a$$ brakes. And 245/50 tires. If my wife is looking the other way I may try to auto-x it in the Spring to see what it can do. I know what the 'bird will do. Exactly the same as this year!!

Are you pulling the motor at your house? I remember you asking around to see if someone could store your car while you worked on it. How did all that turn out?

It is very nice but nobody turns to look at the Acura like they look at the 'bird. I don't know what they're thinking though.

Cool, checked out his site. He's been doing that awhile and has been recommended before for a starter tune. I'm sure a vast improvement over how it was before. I bought something similar when first exploring tuning and didn't have a whole lot of mods.

Re: Yearly Winter Project Thread
Started to datalog my 86 today and sent the results to my tuner at Scotthansen.net looked over what I gave him and told me my car is runnin pretty lean from the injectors that I am running. I have southbay injectors 22lbs, and from what Scott was telling they are not 22lbs but they are 19lb. pretty sad being they are a sponsor of this site. idk but will be lookin into getting some new ones. Other than that I got my transmission adjusted right with the new stall in it.

Re: Yearly Winter Project Thread
ive been working on my 89 irocz pulled engine once to do gaskets, got everything done new clutch on t56 still felt a vibration, then got a upper intake gasket leak after getting it tuned at shop and timing done, said F**K it and pulled engine out its been 4 months since then, had to stack money up...
took it to Valley Engine Balancing to get it rebuilt balanced... got that back fresh took my AFR heads to get checked and redone waiting on that...
so now the fun on putting it back together should start as a christmas present to myself... hope is done by next month.

Re: Yearly Winter Project Thread
Well I ordered my new injectors since southbays were not up to par I got them from http://www.fuelinjectorconnection.com/ got what my tuner told me to get with the 24lbs I will have to do some more datalogging and send the chip back in. So far I am really pleased with the progress made with the little bit of tuning says I ran a 14.3 with my buddy in the car and running very lean and much improved from the 16. ran at the track earlier this year so hopefully with the new injectors and tuning the car will be high 13s in the spring.

Hello Fellas,
I'm planning on porting my intake setup a whole lot better.. I hope.. Gonna go the old golf ball route..
I will also be purchasing items for my future build (only type of shopping I enjoy) lol..
@89firebirdta... How did siamesing the base work out for you.. I've read mixed reviews but none the less always wondered..
