Nice time, did they tell you not to come back without a rollbar?

I thought that was 11.5 or faster you need a roll cage.

Re: Nor-Cal 2011 1/4 Mile Track Times - Get on the list!!!
Thanks guys.
Ya 11.5 is the new roll cage time as of '09
Joey-
my fastest was my first run.
my third run by the eighth was already two tenths faster, but I had a third gear glitch, ill talk of later in another thread, but it slowed me down to 12.4 @ 88mph lol
I know this car has mid elevens in it for sure!! 11.4-11.5 is my realistic goal now I know how shes doing!

Way to go Travis. Can your system data log? I'm sure your cars got room for improvement.
Just because you don't want to install a cage isn't a good enough reason to be stuck in the mid 11's. (yes I know your answer, "its a street car" or "its my daily driver")
You can run faster than 11.5 w/o a cage twice before they kick you out. First is a warning, second they ask you to leave. Theres too many cars out there for them to remember they kicked you out a couple months ago for going too fast.

Re: Nor-Cal 2011 1/4 Mile Track Times - Get on the list!!!
Very true. I will gladly take an 11.4 or whatever someday and say "see you later" when they send me home till the next month.
You get what I mean though. It's tough to have a fully functioning, sub-11 street car.
Jesse's car has some interior in it now at least, which looked nicer. I didn't see if he actually completed a run on another try.
I'm sure Travis still has some kinks to work out and lots of room to improve. A 383, with a monster cam and a monster Procharger should be capable of 10's eventually.

Yup a 6 pt roll bar isnt bad and they sell some nice kits that tuck real well into the cab to make it pretty easy to get in and out of the cars.
I updated my MPH btw Mr. Moderator guy.

Re: Nor-Cal 2011 1/4 Mile Track Times - Get on the list!!!
Sure, make sure you put some more bolts in that air dam, i'd hit it up with some loctite too. You NEED that dam if you're going to drive that car around.
As far as the motor mounts, I'll take some pics later today, but ya one sides got a good bend in it and i'd say a solid 1/2" gap between the block and the motor and the others got a little clearance between as well. Mounting points on the motor are toast and there's no good reason to try and repair them, cast irons hard to weld on and i think they'd just break again. Got a set of motor plates lyin around in the garage that i'll use instead. Other than that I don't think i hurt anything (knock on wood).

Yeah I ended up drilling holes thru and putting a nut on the other side to hold the air dam in place trav.
And Jesse man that sounds like fun...haha...cars are always more money!

This guy. I'm sure your homies on 1320 have their own internal fastest list that you can add your 40 second time to. I would've liked to have seen a full pass. Last time I saw your car go was a few years ago on all motor. Maybe next time.

If your burning out it explains it. Plus the MPH is a lil fast which shows burnout too

Yep. If you ease into it more and hit it just right a cool 2.2 60' on street tires should get you closer to a 15 flat and drop closer to 86-87mph maybe.

Re: Nor-Cal 2011 1/4 Mile Times - Get on the list!
Well maybe the next meet after June, I'll have my car fixed and we can run and see how she does.
Edit: I just tried a 2500 RPM take off and it went pretty smoothly, little tire screeching so I might drop it to about 2000 and see how she does.
Being on base I have to be a little careful though! lol

Best I managed with my 305 was a 15.21 @ 90 mph, 2.19 60' lol. I had a 2.6 or 2.8 60' earlier that day, was terrible.
