Crazy 3rdgen at a Lowrider car show

I saw this car at the lowrider car show on Sunday. Went with my bro, he is really into 64 Impala's and lowriders. It was actually pretty cool I must say.

Anyway, I saw this crazy 91 RS there. It's totally a show car, freaking brakes and what not are all dipped in chrome. I find the painted dash a interesting part...I can't imagine what he put into the paint alone, kinda nuts to do for a 3rdgen. But hey, if you love your car that much then I say go for it!

To each their own, but I can't see spending 100k to build a car that can't be driven, too many piles of junk with no insurance on the road.

Ya the paint did look freaking awesome in person. Really the whole car did, although still not my style.

The dash appeared to have fiberglass over it and then paint. Although I have seen plastics and dashes painted before. You just have to make sure and prep it properly so it won't peel or crack.

The dash is flat black so that it doesn't reflect in the windshield or in your eyes while driving.

Re: Crazy 3rdgen at a Lowrider car show

The engine is just a stock 305 TBI, but it's totally chromed out, I mean everything! It's strictly a show car. The brakes are all chrome too, it's pretty crazy. Sorry about the pics, all I had was my cell phone.

TwinTurboROC1, I agree, that guy put tons of money etc. into that car because he loves it to death. I know it's just a 3rdgen but if you love your car enough who cars. I give him mad props even though most of it is not my style.

Re: Crazy 3rdgen at a Lowrider car show

Why that horrible grille?

The stock brakes look so *****. Why would you do all that, but then skimp so hard on the one area that would actually give some performance while looking awesome by blinging the stock brakes?

Meh.

Re: Crazy 3rdgen at a Lowrider car show

one thing i learned about lowriders, its like a culture thing, and for their culture its all about that lowrider look, not hp or performance, maybe in 2 years they will all have 8-71's stickin outa the hood. when i came out w my black rims everyone hated on em, except a few old school guys (mopar) who had those on their cars, now same guys who were hatin' got some version of black rims...then the colored lip...same ****...got love from the import guys, now lots of colored rim lips. it all just whats accepted at the given time. personally not my cup of tea, but punch for punch those guys put just as much effort into heir cars as we do, that can be resected, and props to him for having thirdgen, the way i look at it, were the forgotten generation of the f bodies.

i dont think they can cuz most of the knock off "lowrider" rims are like 13"s 14"s i think the baer rotor-clots are like 13"

Re: Crazy 3rdgen at a Lowrider car show

Not my cup of tea but does look nice . And it does look like it is driveable as the rotor looks like it does see use . The only chrome on the rotor is the adapter for the wheels and the caliper and the spindle from what I can see in the pictures .

Yup upon closer inspection I do see that too. So I retract my previous statement.

Maybe he likes the grille. Ya think he could have had a custom one made from steel then chromed out or something..that'd be trick.

Whatever, I love the RS grill! Looks so clean, plus you can't even get the damn Z28 fog lights anymore! And I have seen a RS with the grill painted body color and it looks so sick and clean. Even TraviZ has my back on that. I plan on painting mine body color

Was it that red car on the cover of a Camaro performers magazine? It looked good. I havnt decided if I keep mine or not when I paint my car. How do billet grilles look on these cars?

I think if you had a solid color car it would not look good but a car with stripes or something would look good

Ya I wouldn't mind having that hood at all. I plan on either going Z28 hood or that hood. Also plan on doing the high rise Z28 spoiler With all that and the body color painted grill I think it will look sick!
