Re: Nor-Cal 2010 - 1/4 Mile Track Times - Get on the list!!
Well I went out for the TNT today. Timing was the only thing I changed.
I was lucky enough to have both Rex & Glen Hutchinson, Theo from Wizard Racing, and Artie Pavia all out there all watching and trying to help me out .
The run is the fasted so far, though the ET is lower, the MPH is a little faster. Not as low of an ET as I'd like.
11.337 @ 126.660
Everyone seemed to have the same opinion, either loosen up the converter to get it to Flash in the powerband or add the bottle and leave it alone.

3500 Footbrake, 1.66
4300 Transbrake, wot, 1.66
Heres an in-car shot, you can see at take off, the rpms dont do much until about 5500, then when shifting the rpms drop almost 2000 rpms before recovering.

Dang, shifting to 3rd right before the line? I'm in 3rd right around half track. I think it's time to try out the nitrous to see if it wakes that thing up.

have you left off idle yet? won't seriously fix the 60 that's for sure but every car likes something else.
I'd hit it with the kit and see what it does, honestly i'd tell you not to worry about it if you had a glide in the car, but even though it's a nitrous car it should 60 better than that on the motor with a 3 speed. I think my car went 1.47/1.48 on the motor when i had the turbo350 in her. Oh well, throw some bottle at it and tell us what happens. Good luck.

Thanks for the the compliments.
Bottle is in & making changes to have the Gen7 change the timing & AF map so when the preset RPM & WOT come together, its party time.
Thanks Jess.

86 was a bad year for the 305. Can't be helped with that peanut cam in there. 15 flat is not all that bad considering how much it weights and only putting out 190hp. I'm sure some simple little mods like cutting the air box or less restrictive intake would help you crack that 14.99 barrier.

I bought a shirt a year or two ago that says "I'm not cocky, I'm just faster that you"
I guess I'll be sporting it a little more often.

That's true. Hahaha. I have been busy lately but Jolly is at Autostart. I gave one of my customer(who has a clean 68 Camaro) a ride around the back street and few minutes later, Elk Grove Police was circling the premises. I had to bring Jolly inside the smog bay and shut the roll up door down.

We'll be going out to the Chevy vs Ford on Saturday.
Its open to all Chevy powered, or Chevrolet vehicles.
Just installed a 125 jet & added some more timing, so we'll see what happens.

No I didn't run my car for a couple of reasons. The rear end (373 gears) Walter put in jacked up my shift points! So to remidy this the FUN WAY!! Were putting in a T5 tranny, just waiting for the $$ to buy a clutch!!

If you plan to run the car a lot at the track you will want the auto. Tell Walter to not feel bad it takes awhile to get good on the tree!
