4 year record still goin strong at #2
Dang, I sure take my time dropping tenths, eesh.
'06 - 13.5 -> '07 - 13.3 -> '08 12.9
If history repeats itself, the best I can get is a 12.7 this year, haha.
Anybody have a time to post yet? I know some of you savages have been out there since Feb and earlier.

Re: Nor-Cal '09 1/4 Mile Track Times
That was my first time out there. My best trap was a 103 run. I couldn't get any traction.
I plan on going out over summer at least 2 times a month if my formy is running. I don't have to work part time anymore. I can't wait to graduate in 4 days!

Everybody wants No.1 spot so I give up, I'll just follow.
I need to update my ignition, I can't spin my motor over 6400. If it's fuel then I will definitely need to transfer the motor to my other Camaro. Or Firebird?

Re: Nor-Cal '09 1/4 Mile Track Times
Unfortunately no 10 second pass for me but....
11.520 et @ 120.629 mph 1.608 60' 406 all motor stock rear end w/3.23 Still working on a few problems.
Eliminated 5 Mustangs until 2 Mustangs and 5 Camaros. I was supposed to run a Mustang again but I ended up racing a Tub Camaro. Only If we didn't change my dial in of 11.80(ran 11.67), I would have still won the race. My son was with me and learn how the bracket race goes and asked why did I have to change it. I said I didn't, someone did......he then said aagain......WHY???
I just did some calculation and if I am right which I think I am, I would have still lost the race even if dial in was not changed due to my slower reaction time.

Re: Nor-Cal '09 1/4 Mile Track Times
How is everyone getting traction out there? I had new nitto drag radials and I cut ONE 2.1, but it was hot out and I ran a 14.1... Then as I cooled down I cut a 2.2 and ran a 13.7... What PSI is everyone using?

Re: Nor-Cal '09 1/4 Mile Track Times
I was at about 20 PSI at the track. The first run I didn't turn down the PSI at all and it was at like 32PSI and I did a small burn out and I cut my best 2.1 and that was the hottest part of the day too. At 20 PSI with big burnouts, I cut a few 2.1's, few 2.2's 2.3 and a 2.4...

Re: Nor-Cal '09 1/4 Mile Track Times
I would think with that higher stall and new DR's you should be able to cut some 1.8-1.9 60's at least.
With my old BFG's and not really smoking the tires, I was typically 1.9-2.0 with 15-18psi in them and that's not very good.
I'm in the market for some new "streetable" DR's and hopefully some better launching skills, hah.
Hey Joey, were those 1.77's with the same slicks?

Re: Nor-Cal '09 1/4 Mile Track Times
try even as low as 15. I think your just in need of more launching practice. no amount of tire can help your torque off the line.

Try this, quicky roll into the throttle instead of just hammering it.

The drag radials are the Nitto 555's that are 245s.
Anyone want to let me try there tires sometime?

How should I launch it then? I doing a fat burnout in the beginning, then foot braking to 2400 or so, then rolled on the pedal, and still had traction issues. I tried launching in 1st, 2nd, and in drive... not much difference.
I went on a Wednesday night without much prep and really hot outside.

Lower your RPM and let the converter flash, maybe a little less of a burnout. Hey, you should head up to Redding on the 27th. Gates open at 6pm (usually open earlier though) and racing starts around 7pm ish. It's about the same driving distance as Sacramento and it's only 5-10 bucks to get in, another 10 to run.

Doh. I'm hoping to do a cam swap Friday so I'm hoping to get the car back on the road soon as the lifters come in lol. Hope I ordered the right length pushrods or else I'm screwed for Saturday.

Cool...go..go..go. It's about time. I like competition. I need to install that coil and try to break low 11's. You're close to my time or I can just press that "detuned" botton. j/k.
Car has been ready to hit the track months ago but, it's been busy at the shop lately. Few more tweaks and it should break into 10's. Then we will give the baby bottle. The last time we hit the track on the car was like I think 4 months ago.
