Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
I went and spectated last week, was nice to get out there and check out the action this year, which I haven't done for some reason this year. I want to make a run with the Camaro but last year when I took it out it had an overheating problem when going down the track. I haven't been able to find what the problem is since but doesn't overheat just driving it around.

Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
good point, I could just give a try and see how it runs, I guess I was just embaressed last time out because it would run slower times when it was heating up. I will think about it, maybe I can put an additive or something to try and keep it cooler. Hope my radiator isn't failing.

Yup. Got a 91 RS/Z28 sitting on top of my trailer. Do you still need a motor for your firebird?

Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
Made it out there tonight for just 3 runs.
Started off good with the 12.9, but was all downhill from there, 13.0 & 13.3.
Not sure what Bennie and Marc ran. Talked to Robby for a bit (Cali Z) and saw a guy in a red T/A that I didn't get a chance to say what's up to, or see run either.
Anyways, maybe I'll get out there again for the next Grudge. Catch y'all later!

I was there, but got stopped because I had shorts on. Pointed out there were already some guys in shorts and that they were selectively enforcing the rules. Told me "too bad". I was ready to throw down with the people working there and was way to fired up. So, I demanded my money back and left. Sorry I missed you guys.

Now that's something I can imagine and put a grin on my face. I guess I have ulgy knees. The guy in the next lane who just got signed off had on gangsta shorts (big, baggy, below the knee) and that was ok. That's what really set me off.

Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
Well, it turns out there are only 4 Camaros in the Sacramento area. Since it was close to Haloween, I posed as a Camaro & ran in the camaro lane. So that makes five.
1st run was a 12.7,
2nd runs was a 13.7 (WOT switch problem)
3rd run, (switch fixed) dialed a 12.55, ran a 12.56, but redlight.
later that night, someone spilled coolant in the right lane, nobody noticed, then a motorcycle ran in that lane & spilled out about half way down.
They rushed to him & I think he is ok. They later shut that lane down & ran "your dial in" against yourself.

Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
Yeah at the end was 1 lane, race your time. It was hard to be consistent since I was there tuning and trying to go as fast as possible.
1st run...... 1.928 60" 12.219 @ 114.634
2nd 1.913 12.109 @ 115.233-----BTW .001 R/T
3rd 1.815 11.770 @ 117.373
4th 1.727 11.668 @ 117.437 .070
Changes were made after each run. I lost the last final round since I broke out. It was the best run though. No hiccups what-so-ever except the off idle take off. Those ET Streets and finally hooking up better that before.
More tuning on the way. See you there on the Grudge Fest.

Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
Thanks guys. Too bad my other 2 runs were horrible.
2nd trip my brakes didn't hold while I was shallow staging and I crept fwd just in time to barely catch a red light.
3rd trip I have a lousy launch out of the hole (2.1 60') and just don't get down the track as fast as I should have.
eesh. Need to work out a couple bugs and get more seat time, as always!

An 02 Audi S4 1st twin turbo car I've driven and I'm in love. It's much faster than my A4. The A4 looks better though.

Any for sure folks heading to this 10/18 Grudge date?
If there won't be any fun competition, I'll just spectate.
Thinking I'd rather go to a TNT instead where I can get more runs/practice for my $.
Nice wheels btw Steve. You change vehicles so quickly.

The cocky crew from Rocklin Automotive will sure be there. Especially now that I find out my Tow rig is perfectly after the accident. Built FORD TOUGH.....
Booooooo. The silver GTA is your competition. Need to settle the grudge or GTA will take the '08 win. Oh well, take care what you need to bro, it's all good.

Dont "no show". Be there! This is one of the last race events of the season. Be there, & REPRESENT for Firebirds & Trans Ams.
If I had a Firebird tattoo'd on my arm, it would be no question as to where I'd be on that night. ESP if I was a mod for the TGO site.
ESP-2, if you finally ran a 12.9, two weeks ago.
cya there

Haha, oh the pressure. We'll see how it goes. The world won't stop if SacTown's slowest supercharged TPI doesn't make a run.
Going to be a lot of fast cars that night. Been browsing some other forums, LS1/LT1 related.

Not lookin' good for me.
Been slammed at work all week and will probably do some OT tomorrow too.
Daddy needs a new pair of shoes. ..for both cars.
I'll have to get out there again for a TNT before the weather turns.

Well, we made it, car ran a 2nd fastest, 12.44 w/ a 1.54, 60'.
I think Bennie ran a 11.5 something...I'm sure he will chime in.
I'm still in awe, 1320.com was representing in a huge way, 5 BBQ pits going, plenty of tables, lights, shirts, seating, plenty of goings on...
Thats how we should rep.. next season!

I definitely need to install an electric vacuum pump. Take off was at idle. I'll buy one next week and go for TNT. Jolly needs to get into 10's on the motor before she retires.
Thanks for the awesome video Kairless. My niece took a video as well but does not have your experience taking video at the track.

Dang, I am a few weeks too late. I have been away for the last 7 years serving in the Air Force but I will be home to take a CA guard position next week. Depending on how long it takes them to ship the Z down, I will try and make the next event.
Can't wait to get the car down the track, I just got the motor and trans swap done and she has just over 250 miles now. Looking forward to meeting some of you.

Re: Sacramento Raceway - October Events
Just changed the base map. Added more fuel on top end. It misfires above 6500. I didn't see my fuel pressure to check if it's dropping at 6500. Had 2 runs only. Track was packed. We need to go to TNT. Maybe I'll just install the SX pump and see what happens. Or maybe take it to a dyno and check it out. That would be my best bet.
