Members up North....

Have any of you delt with GM Sports Salvage? They want my 73 Camaro, just wondering how fair they are. I talked to one of the guys, and he says he will trade out a bunch of parts for it, I just don't want to tow it up that far and get the run around.

Although that place is expensive at times... it's got all the right parts. I know this doesn't help you.. but if anyone has a third gen, especially later year models, this is the best place I've found in the bay area.

All the times Ive been there they've been a bunch of asses. Some of there parts they have for sale there can be expensive and overpriced. But I dunno as of lately if they got new workers or not. If they are willing to trade then Id take advantage of it since nothing is really coming out of your pocket.

Thanks guys... They come across a little pissy on the phone too, but answered all my questions and seemed like they would be willing to deal.

Jason, I went there last January looking for a later year 9 bolt. They are jerks there but they got good stuff too.

I say you work um for everthing you can.

hm...the first couple of times i called they were pretty helpful, i wouldnt suggest calling them at 12:30 on a saturday because apparently they close at 1:00 so they wouldnt pull the part i needed...and they dont really let you pull the parts yourself

Well, I went to GM Sports today, they were extremely helpful and had good attitudes towards me.... Hopefully the next time I go up, they will be the same...

Dwayne, I just picked up a bunch of parts for my 69 Camaro..... They have a good amount of third-gens up there, but I did not look at them really, we were kind of in a hurry.

Sorta off the topic, but a friend of mine has a fairly new repair/smog shop in north Sacramento. .. but he specializes in 3rd gen. camaros/firebirds and does high performance part installations, intake, exhaust, engine work, porting, etc. He's working on getting a dyno in the next couple months too!
He's got a `92 Z that runs 10-11's in the 1/4!

hovrbord98 - He's getting a dyno!? Sounds like a dyno day's gathering in the mix

Jason - did you see the custom nova yesterday w/o any gauges at all? Or the Zypher! It was nice weather up there.
It never cleared up by the beach

Hey you hoser.... How come you were in town and did not call me? I tried your cell just after seeing you, then turned around, but you were gone. Anyways, I did not see the nova, we did not get to see many cars, mostly the vendors area. We bought Blake a new wagon from Moon, wait until you see this thing I am headed to the shop now to try and get the new trans in the blue car.....

definately a dyno day will be in the works.

he gives good rates to 3rd/4th gen. owners as it is, and would probably have the best price around for a dyno up here! considering there aren't any around here, i'm stoked!

Sorry for no phone call Jason. I didn't bring my cell that day. Cam and I bought some way cool flamed shirts and Shelby got a "Hot Rod Girl" top. Gotta love the Moon booth.

Did you get the tranny in yet?

hovrbord98 - Keep us informed when this dyno gets installed.

Yeah, the trans. is in, but I am having issues with the starter. I have the CVR protorque mini starter, and figured there would be no problems.....
