GM Nationals At Carlisle
I was wondering if anyone here going to the GM Nationals at Carlisle in Pa, I know I'm going with my Camaro and my brother is taking his Monte Carlo. We're camping out there for the weekend.

I am going on Saturday for the day. Its a bit of a hike for me from NJ, but I have heard so much about it that I just have to go. Already registered last month for the showfield to enter my 1985 Trans Am in the car show.
I just buffed out the Black Paint yesterday and came out really nice, so maybe I will win something.
Look for the Black TA if your going !!

Re: GM Nationals At Carlisle
Wow, what a day at Carlisle !!!! I had an awesome time!! I was in the Stock Class and was very surprsed to to be with only 3 third Gens in that class.
1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am. a 86 Trans Am and my car, that was it.
Alot of 4th Gens, alot of them were made up to much in my opinion, but were kept in pristine condition.
Let me tell the 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am was the talk of the show. You rarely see it on the road or at shows, at least the ones I have attended.
There was so many cars and parts around, by the time I got to the GM tent for the New Camaro Test Drive, it was closing.
I met Sam Memmolo and Bryan Fuller of Two Guys Garage. The had a tech siminar and autograph section, reallly cool
Alot of Camaro's, they had sections indoors as wel as out doors with MINT Unrestored Camaro's
The 3 Hour drive was well worth it. I have not made a run like that in my TA for sometime now, but I was very comfortable driving there with the AC on and the tunes going !!
I can't wait till next year !! I will post some pictures after I convert to smaller size due to the sites size limit.
Thanks
Rob

Re: GM Nationals At Carlisle
I was there on Saturday but didn't bring my GTA. I know the Corvettes have their own weekend (I drove a Corvette up but didn't show it), but compared to the All-Chrysler weekends I've attended the past three years, this weekend for GM was small. There were a reasonable amount of cars being shown, but swap meet and car corral were barren relative to what I've seen for All-Chrysler. Can anyone whom attends this show every year give me a gauge on how this one measured up? I have to admit, I was disappointed, but maybe my expectations were too high.

Carlisle was great, my friends Caprice actually won first in his class, I was kinda disappointed they judged the camaros and firebirds seperatly from the rest of the show, anyway here are some of the pictures I took. That turbo firebird was amazing including the new camaro mule and the line of camaros next to mine.

Re: GM Nationals At Carlisle
Thanks guys for the nice words on my 89 Turbo TA.
It's nice to see that our third gens can stand out on their own without any crazy customizations.
Rob (85 TA), your ride is definitely one of the nicest I see around. Keep up the good work. Good to see you at Saratoga today.
Best regards,
Rob
