New Race Track In Pa

It's going to be located in Saylorsburg, Pa which is located about 15 minutes south of Stroudburg. It will be a 4-mile circuit that could be driven one of nine different ways. A guy that is apart of the Corvette club that my dad help run is co-owner of the track. The web address is http://www.alpinesignature.com/ . It looks REALLY cool except for the price and rights to use the track. It's a member's only track and it looks to be about $3,000 a year for a membership, but I'm not sure on that. I wish a fast car to race there or even $3,000 to just throw away to be able to race, but thats not going to happen anytime soon. Construction for the track will begin very soon, but I am not sure when it will be completed.

lol yea it looks like it's 30,000 to join and you get 10% back a year so that pretty much explains everything

might as well be a private golf course, not many 3rd gen'ers are going to be able to afford to go there, only the guys with the BMWs Benz'es Ferrari's etc.

Pocono Raceway is for everyone, I've been going to the August Nascar race every year since 1993.

I don't think there is any way that it is possible for this track to put Pocono out of business. From the sounds of it, its a strictly private course. Hope fully this will only be for a few years as a plan to pay it off, then open up to the public.

I know, I meant it as a joke. I cant understand why anyone would want to build there though? I guess to get buissness from Jersey, as well as Pa. I dont think it will actually happen to be built.

Yea, i figured you were being sarcastic. From what my dad was saying( he know they part-owner of the track or someone who knows him), its a great possiblity that it will get built. Yes, but why the Poconos?

The Pocono's is a great "getaway" spot. It's 2 or so hours from NY and Philly, and a little more or less from Jersey. I'm in Snydersville, like I said, which is only about 10-12 minutes from where the proposed site is, so I see it all the time. People come here from the city for the weekends, to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. Many HUGE neighborhoods up here house nothing but "weekend" homes. It would be a great place for privite track like this, there's alot of "weekender" money around here, and for the wealthier people in the cities it would be a great place to get away, and have fun with their ferarri, lambo, lotus or vette.

Sucks to be us poor third genners (at least i know i am )

As for Pocono Raceway going out of business...wont happen, it brings in way to much revenue in the area. And as if I recall correctly, one race is in June, and one in July.
