Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Yeah, we went to Riley's and oh man was that fun. Screwing down Rt. 9 with a caravan of thirdgens was the most fun I have had in the car so far. It was great! Then finally showing her off at Rileys was awsome too. I was explaining things aobut my car and how I built it for a solid 1.5 hours straight. It was fun as hell. I met a lot of interesting people that had a lof of comliments and advice, in terms of other shows and so on. I will be there this Sat too. I have Fri off so I might go then too.

As for the car, I am finally going to finish the door panels this weekend and FINALLY, FINALLY try out the nitrouse. I really wanna see what that feel like. Anways, GREAT time and hope more people can come next time.

Can't wait till next week.

Oh by the way, we went to Riley's around 4. It was packed to the brim with cars. And we finally left around 6:30- 7 something like that.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Yeah, it was a great time last time. Like I said again, to anyone who wants to be involved, PM me your phone # and name and I will make a master list of people who are interested.

We will start doing this every Saturday starting the 30th. Hows that sound. I wanna be able to call everyone Friday b4 to make sure it is going down and be able to cancel if something comes up. I have like 3 #s so far, so send me those #s.

As for this saturday, even if your cars not up and running try to make it down and we can at least hang out and see who is interested.

Later guys, hope to hear from you. later.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Nice. Well all I know is that there will be:

me (custom 91 camaro Z28)
redfirebirdman88 (with a 305, T-5 Blue bird, 89)
F-bobby ( 88 TA I think, not his nice car, but still fun)

And then there is a whole list of maybes:

(30K mile, black 91 camaro Z28, mint)
(another 91 good condition, 305, T-5)
( I know I am forgeting someone, but you get the picture)

Not a huge thing, but the weather is supposed to be GREAT. so the cruise we are going to will be packed.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

I am 90% sure I will be busy this weekend, but the one after that, I am going all out! We need to get as many people over as possible. I am calling in everyone that knows about it. I will be out of school and I am sure the weather will be nice. I will also be doing a HUGE burnout as I smoke my old tires right off the rims! With a big *** bucket of bleach. Should be pretty cool, I am gonna get it on tape. Oh I am also gonna be "testing" out the N20. So if anybody wants to go for a ride, hehe.

Well thats all for now. Plan ahead, week after next 06/30. I might even have a BBQ if we get enough people to confirm they are comin' over.... Lemme know as soon as possible if you are gonna make it. Any third/fourth gen Camaro/bird welcome.

also a lot of you have work done to your car... i want to put a mild cam in my car and will change the heads if needed. dont want to spend a ton, what im looking for is the more respectable sound, and a little more pep. So my question is what cam/head combo would be good for me and what else should i change along with it?

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

We cruise from my house, 20 miles to the show. At my place we just chill and show eachother what each of our cars has. That kinda thing. Then at the show, get a bite and crusie home, or do whatever we want.

Mapquest Needham, MA. 02492. I am right off Exit 18. On Intervale Rd.

I like to get started on cleaning my car around 1 and I like to get outta here around 3:30 for the show. Then we can stay there as long as anyone likes. Easy to get to the highway from there.

Think I answered most of the questions. I am gonna make some phone calls now to see if I can get some other people over.

Right now I think it is just me and Tj.

I am gonna call nick and e-mail linx. Hopefully we can get at least 3. Seems kinda hard to get people over.

Do people wanna try and have this on Friday nights instead??

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Yes the club is still definetly happening. Nick, I got your message. Great to hear that we have a third SOLID member ready to cruise. I feel the momentum will pick up, the more guys we can get. I have a guy in my hometown that is almost done with his, and Tj (redfirebirdman8), knows of another. F-bobby should be back on the raod sorta soon I think. Anyways, glad to hear we picked up another and we will be looking for more. redfirebirdman8 made some flyers, so I guess we just need to keep getting them out there and hope for the best. In a month or so I hope we have enough people to get a dicount at the dyno, cuz I will be heading back up there to see what kinda #s I am at now that the motor is all broken-in and see what the N20 can do.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

We always have them at my house on every Saturday if there is good weather. If it is definetly going to be shitty on Sat, then we can try Fri or Sun. Depends what people wanna do. It says it might be raining every day this weekend on weather.com, so I guess we will play it by ear. I will post here if I feel like it is worth it or not. If anyone else feels like having a meet at their favorite location, post it here. I don't mind going other places (that means you GTAfanatic).

Anyways, very happy to see people that are interested. Keep'em comin', the more we get, the better the time. Later.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Not a problem. Let us know when you are free. There is not enough of us in the club yet to say when and where for sure we will meet up.

Rileys is def my first vote of location. Great place to eat and see some crazy stuff. We can go later, or even stay till you get there and a couple hours after that. We can work something out. I know me and TJ (redfirebirdman8) can go whenever, as long as he isn't working. There are 2 other guys named Nik that both have camaros that are interested. One works on Sat so it is hard for him too. Maybe we can meet right after Badass355ciz28 gets out of work. Maybe the Nik that works will be done by then too. That would make 4 of us. Not a bad start at all. Post here about any suggestions. Also PM me with your # and name if you want, then later on in the summer/fall when I go to Epping I can call everyone in the group to see if we can all go and get a group discount. OK, let me know. Later guys.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Ok guys. I have no idea who still reads this thread, so I am also going to start a new one in the East board.

But essencially I wanna actually try and get people together this weekend. I talked to one of the 2 Niks I know and he is available Friday night after work. i am available too. he gets out at 5, i get out at 4:30. I can be at Riley's at 6, easily. Anyone wanna try this? Tj keeps working on Sat too, so maybe he will be there too. That makes three. I we can get some people confirmed as going, I am sure others will follow. Tony, are you down for coming down here one more time with that crazy GTA you have? Maybe in a couple weeks you can organize something in your end of the woods. Looks like there are a lot of TGO people up there. Let us know.

Anyways, so I am shooting for 6 at Riley's this Friday. Then again on Sat around 4:30. I will be going both days, hands down. By then I should my new ignition in so I want to put it to the test then.

PM me or post here as soon as you can. Thanks, later

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

hey dennis and anyone else that still checks this thread,

im having the worst luck with my car. on sunday night i was driving to rescue my parents from thier broken down car and my car started to over heat like crazy. the car has been running hot since i got it but the cooling fans always used to come on...well they didn't come on and they still wont come on so i dont know what the problem is. i checked to see if the thermostat was opening and it is but the car just gets hotter and hotter and hotter up to like 250 degrees with no fans or anything happening.

the car will go back to the shop tommorow cuz i have no idea whats going on and i would like to have a decent running car so i could start to spend money on the fun stuff....

anyways i want tot try to make it to riley's this weekend on fri or saturday. dennis if u have any insight into my dilemma please let me know. u have alot more experience witht htis than i do. hopefully my car will cool down by this weekend but i'll keep everyone posted

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

i hear ya. Hard wiring stuff kinda feels like cheating, haha.

But as for the problem, i would say check relays first, then maybe a wire diagram of how the fans get power.

Finally, if you computer doesn't care about coolant temps, and the motor is running fine... Then do what I did, wire them both up with a painless kit and a thermo ground to the intake or head. Wire one to the ign. so it turns on when you turn the car on, and the other to a 180* ground thermo switch, also get a 180 thermostat. Then you will be golden.

Thats what I did with my car, but I used 165, but my cooling system is so efficient, the car won't heat up to 180. I need to swap out my thermo and thermo switch, both very minor things. Good luck, and hope it works out.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

i have been working on my other cars lately, i just need to put a full day in on the 88 GTA and ill prob fig it out by then.

I already checked the relays and i have a hiperteck 160 thermo thats open fine. my temp sensor in the head (Pside back) is hooked up fine. i even grounded it to trip the relays but nothing happened, i think all it affected was the temp gauge. maybe there is an other sensor. Do you know what the sensor above the oil cooler is for? I know it is NOT for the oil pressure.

The messed up part about the whole thing is that my 89 GTA fans are not working eather

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

I think that is the fuel pump saftey sensor. I am not sure since my car doesn't have any of that stuff anymore. But I have read around here that people who can't get their fuel pumps on ususally have bad sensors above the oil filter

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

First, whomever wants to, meet up at my house in Needham, right off exit 18 off 95. Then we drive to Riley's Roast Beef, in Framingham. Eat some food, see a ton of cool cars and do whatever. Great place. Gets packed this time of year.

i am definitely going this Sat.

PM me is you, anyone, is interested. I will give you my # so you can get more details from me if you want.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Well Tj made a flyer that is going around the shows here. It got a great response a month ago when we handed them out to people. The good thing that Riley's has is people that know me and Tj. If everyone came to Riley's that I talked to and if people could just get off work, we would have like at least 15 people. That is HUGE. We just need to find a time when people have free time.

But ya, if you have suggestions for a new place, fire away.
i am all ears.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

I'm interested in this club quite a bit. My father and I both have F-bodies. Mines a 3rd his is a 4th, once my car is up and running and on the roads I'll deffinately be more committed towards something. I can try and get some f-bodies together to come sometime once my car is done.

Badass355ciz28's car is wicked nice, I dont know if anyone else has seen it but its sweet.

Re: Starting local third gen club...Neer Boston.

Ok well last Sat, me, TJ and Nik met up at my place. I was installing a new ignition in my car, so was never able to make it up to Riley's, but either way it was nice to have the first 3 people in the club meet up.

I am going to really start trying to get this thing going. We are planning for this Friday night, to meat up at my house and go for a cruise.

I have their e-mails and phone #s, If you are truly serious about being in this club, e-mail me and/or let me know your phone #, so I can start making a data base of people in the club. I wanna make a common e-mail list so we can find out when is the best time/day to have meets. Thanks guys.
