i went to the etown swap meet last year and it kinda sucked, some people want too much for their stuff and the people that were selling the speakers were a total rip off the prices they wanted. i walked away with a dash and side speaker covers for 75 and i think i could have gotten a better price at a junkyard to be honest for the same thing.

well, i cant go to the BBQ anyways, cuz i just realized its on a saturday

i'm actually going to the swap meet on sunday

on saturday I HAVE to work, because mechanic school just started up again

and i'm in the middle of a th350 swap into my Z28

and i have the 350 sitting in my garage waiting to replace the V6 in my green camaro

so i have my hands full

i cant wait until i get rid of that V6......i HATE that thing

next year, i should be in a much better position, considering i'll have 2 V8 cars i can be proud of, i'll be much happier too then

Glenn, sell me the Z dude! C'mon... I've been looking all over for donor V8 cars but it's not looking good...

Spring time is the time to buy these cars... I will definatly be in a good financial position then for an engine swap, sometime in late May early June... so maybe then I'll find something... which is why I'm thinking I can just go to the BBQ this time, and hit up the spring swapmeet...

Although I will admit, I really would like to get to the swapmeet early Saturday when all the good deals will be there... :sigh: you can't have it all... I'm stuck with the 6 for another winter... Plus, I would have no way of getting the engine or trans home... those are the things I'd be looking for at the swapmeet...

thanks curt. well i'm bringing my beat trans am anyway so if u don't want to drive i'll take you. i'm in for staying at your school for the carslise show thingy in PA too buddy. I know my car won't be the best looking or fastest there but i'll still be proud of it. It's come a long way in a year. It runs on all 8 cylinders, it has a new nose, and some sort of music playing device now. I'm very proud of my car.

Directions from The Parks Commission for Duke Island Park. I got these with the permit. Kind of Long.

SOMERSET COUNTY PARK COMMISSION
Directions to Duke Island Park, Bridgewater

From Route 287 in NJ
Southbound: Follow Route 287 S. to Exit 17 (Somerville/Routes 202/206 South). When the highways split, take R. 202 S.. Approximately 2 miles down R. 202, you will travel under a train overpass. Make a right at the next U-Turn, which is Milltown Road. Take the U-Turn and cross back over R 202 onto Milltown Rd, and follow to the end. Make a left onto Old York Road. Travel a 1/4 mile, and the entrance to Duke Island Park will be on the right.

Northbound: Follow R. 287 N. to route 22 West. Follow the R. 22 directions below.

From route 22
Westbound: Follow route 22 to routes 202/206 South.

Eastbound: Follow R. 22 East through Branchbrug. Make a right onto Milltown Road. Follow Milltown Rd. for 1 mile and bear right under the railroad trestle. You will pass North Branch Park on the right. Continue on Milltown Rd. You will cross route 202. Follow Milltown Rd. to the end. Make a left onto Old York Rd. Travel a 1/4 mile, and the entrance to Duke Island Park will be on the right.

From Route 206 Northbound
Follow Route 206 N. into Somerville. Make a left turn at traffic light onto Somerset St. (Landmarks - on the right: Annie Sez; and on the left: Granets Shopping Plaza). Continue on Somerset St. for approximately 2 miles (road name will change to Old York Road). Duke Island Park will be on the left.

From route 78
Westbound: Follow Route 78 West to Exit 29, which is route 287 South. Then follow the above directions for Route 287 South.

Eastbound: Follow Route 78 East to Route 22 East. Then follow the above directions for Route 22 East.

I believe the 287 Exit from Route 80 is 43A. It will say 287 South/Morristown. Not to sure about that though.

OK where it says a 1/4 mile this isn't a drag strip. but we might be able to make it into one.

Xenodrgn, you summed it up. There is a limit of people though right? I'll invite a lot of people anyway I can't wait to see all the awesome cars. I'll just park mine under a tree or behind the bathroooms because i'm the only one that can appreciate it. I'm at school now so i really miss my car. My girlfriend always gets on my case about how i miss it more than her I just can't wait to get back home and cruise in it. Thanks to everyone who's been setting this up especially twiztid. This is going to kick ***! By the way, there is definately going to be a volleyball tournament.

awesome twiztid, good luck with that. I can't wait to see that banging paint job of yours and this new '99 Z i've been hearing about I'm in for wiffleball too. As for you Curt, we'll see how good you are. Your only advantage is you're taller than me...

Here are some directions. The name of the road the park is on is Old York Road in Bridgewater.

I just learned never to trust the Park System. directions are kind of wrong. If you are getting the directions and you see something like this "Make a right at the next U-Turn, which is Milltown Road. Take the U-Turn and cross back over R 202 onto Milltown Rd, and follow to the end. Make a left onto Old York Road. Travel a 1/4 mile, and the entrance to Duke Island Park will be on the right."
The u-turn is on the left and the name of hte road is "Old York Road" There is the Branchburg Police dept on the opisit side of 202 and a Bank on the corner of Old york Road and 202 on the West side. That road is about 5 or 6 miles could be more but about 10 mins from when 202 splits from 206. Kind of easy to find. Here is my cell# if anyone has questions call me 201-522-9637.

thanks! ya know what else would rock? if we all work "hello my name is" tags with our screen name on them

it would make things for people like me (who dont know to many of you) easier to put a face to a name

just an idea

well we could do that. we tried doing something like that at toms river but we put the papers in our cars. if you want that would be cool. i will be there before 10 to setup and get things ready so i might be one of the first people you see.

whichever works is good. I'll be there early too. I have to go out and buy a volleyball now. That and a nice big steak for lunch. I'm so glad i finally get to meet everyone. Except that Curt86iroc kid. He pisses me off... Try and get as many people to go as you can. Twiztid, where do we have to park again? Is it a charge? Thanks for setting this up too buddy.

I don't know if there is a charge for parking but i have never been to this place. The lady i spoke with in the parks dept. said there is plenty of parking and we have the SHADY GROVE area of the park the whole area so we have plenty of space to do whatever.

RedZ28 chick...

Correction... Rich (quingofpenguins) and I were the ONLY ones who put thier SN's on thier cars... Which didn't help because I could simply say, "mine is the nice Sport Coupe over there".. and Rich could say, "Mine is the beat up LT over there"... hehe

I'm looking forward to this... hopefully it'll be bigger than Toms River!

Oh, and matt t/a... look at my sig... I've joined on too... mark will never now.

I will wear a nametag for y'all though...

My car will be one of the only Sport Coupes there and the only car there with the "other" colored 3" Daytona cowl hood!

good job spreading the sig guys. I'll put something on my window after i park. I don't know where the shady grove section is. I didn't know there were sections. I know that when you first enter the park (there is a long entryway off the street over a few speed bumps) there will be a building on your right, a parkinglot ahead and a big white stage in the distance. There are grills and tables everywhere. As the first few people there twiztid, we'll have to figure it out. Everyone else will know where to go because we'll park near it.

Sorry redZ28.. must not have seen that.

And lol at alsz28... Who said anything about money... :reaches in pocket: I'm broke too brother (well not exactly)... I hate spending money.. I almost don't wanna buy the Z, it'll sit on a strangers lot for 6 months... but I think in the long run it'll be worth it. I can be happy with my ride at last. But I also know this means I'll never be able to stop spending money on the car... a few bucks here, a few there... it all adds up... and as far as me beating you? hah! not yet... it's still a stock lethargic low compression carbed 350... wait until it at least gets headers on it! lol Plus I don't even have a posi rear for it... :sigh: it's a step in the right direction though. And yes, I will have my hood... I talked to my dad and he agreed to actually drive me down there with his trailer to pick it up... that way I don't need to take my car, and I don't have to really worry about my brakes as bad, which is real good for me... I'll have it around dinner time Saturday... I'll do my best to get as much of it sanded down as I can... but my gut says that the hood will still be a spraybombed silver when you guys see it...
