75-80 Dragway Reopening April 3 at 4pm

YES, it's TRUE! I spoke with a representative yesterday and Head's Up Racing is the new manager of the old 75-80 Dragway. They will be reopening as a 1/8 and 1/4 mile track. It's a very rare day for one of these tracks to reopen, so please if you are near the area show your support by attending once they open, tell your friends and family about the reopening.

They have a FaceBook page and a new website (www.75-80dragway.com). They are also taking applications on their website page for various positions, so if you need a job and like the track -- this could be for you.

They seem to be pretty good about responding to emails -- I got a call in less than a day after I emailed them.

according to google maps... 59 minutes to 75-80 dragway, 50 minutes to Cecil county dragway. The deciding factors for me are the price and crowd. 75-80 is 150% more expensive. Maybe its less busy and can get more runs in. That is rare these days to hear a track is OPENING.

Damn havent seen fordgirlgonebad on here in a long time. Its great that another track is opening up around here. This year is going to be busy for me racing wise. We have MIR, Capitol, Cecil, Mason Dixon, now 75-80. This might be the only good thing about living around here.

LOL...I'm around. I opened my own business about a year ago and work all the time...

Lucky for me I happened to be in the right place at the right time this week and found out about this. I wanted to make sure people knew it wasn't a rumor so I contacted the track directly. I'll be advertising for them on my front window (I face a very busy road that you could take to get to the track) and I am in need of a place to do a photo shoot of my third gen (2nd issue, the purple beast made the cover!) even exchange, lol!

Now to find a photographer, detailer, plastic surgeon and trainer...

Shooooweee cat!! I haven't been to 75-80 in 20 years (not a typo)!! Pardon my stupidity here, but do they still have a footbrake, ETK, or run-what-you-brung class??I would love to make a couple of passes with the Studebaker as well as the RS.....

Just a quick note to bring this to the top again since they are now officially open and running and my purple beast is on the Home Page of the website for this week's featured ride...gotta love that purple metallic third gen. It gets me places I never imagined

So how is the 275 radial class going? Big car counts? What kind of times are these cars putting down? I am thinking of running a few and just want to see what I am up against. How is the track prep? Thanks in advance.

Re: 75-80 Dragway Reopening April 3 at 4pm

I wish I could tell you, but I've only gone up twice since they opened and didn't note specifics. They do test and tune often -- check their site. They probably have info about times somewhere in there too.

Let me know if you decide to go - if I can get someone to cover the shop I'll come out and have a few beers (spoken like a true Camaro owner, lol).
