Failing emissions is the coolest!! :)

Yup failed again on the first try, I knew it was going to be bad, I smell gas when idling.

State Standards Mine

Hydrocarbons 220 Failed 452
Carbons Monoxide 1.20 Passed 0.72

No other things were checked, they asked me to idle and then i had to hold 2,500 rpm's for awhile

I knew it wasnt good after seeing Second Chance Test for both test and the time running out after like 2 minutes.

O well I better get into that chip tuning very soon.

I have untill Feb 22nd

yeah i failed last time on the roller i went back again and they didnt do roller but idle. this time i went right to idle test as well as a 2500 rpms test in park. failed by double on the hydro's passed everything else.

yeah definitely starting with a new air filter and o2 sensor, and need to tune down the timing alittle also i think i am at 8 or 9.

this is going to be fun every 2 years!

Go home, hook up A.I.R. line to Catco cat...

Hell, I already have the timing set to 0!

Im wondering if my diverter valve is stuck. Imma do a full tune up and check the diverter valve and let you know what happens.

Hey man...

I checked the Diverter Valve (per Haynes manual) and verified that it works.

Imma do a full tune up (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, AND ignition coil just in case...) and let you all know the results. I havent been able to do any of that yet. I was sick last week PLUS I had to get a new downpipe for the GTP. I hit something and broke the flex-joint. Thats why I was driving the Camaro daily in the first place. And to add insult to injury, I have to put another T-5 in the Camaro. Its humming its a$$ off! I think its about to take a dump...

But... enough with the whining. I will keep you all posted!

i see your running your cat still, are you still on stock manifolds and air pump? what is your water temp at when you go in? should be HOT. 220+ when they hit the rollers. full tune up would help also a O2 sensor. i'm sure your is shot and this really lowers the HC's. you already have your timing down. goto the drug store and get 2 bottles of 90% isopropyl alcohol and pour that in on a 1/4 tank of fuel next time you go.

i don't run a cat/airpump setup and at 12 degrees advanced i passed. 02 sensor did it for me.

Full tune up including the cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, ignition coil AND the O2 sensor. My air filter, breather filter, and PCV valve were all new. And I recently changed the oil. Notice in a previous post that I said the the number 4 and 6 plugs looked like crap.

Oh... I also ran a half bottle of SEAFOAM through the throttle body, a half bottle in the oil, and a FULL bottle in the gas tank.
