1990 GTA, 35k miles...

Another barn find project....

1990 GTA, 35K miles, 5.7. Its 74 year old owner passed away, so the family sold the car. It had been sitting a very long time, but fires right up and runs great. It also came with a painted fiberglass reproduction rear spoiler. Its gonna get the spoiler installed, complete buff and ceramic coat, and then it will be for sale...The car is going to look like a million bucks after it's all detailed. It got a very well deserved bath right away, and already looks like a different car

Re: 1990 GTA, 35k miles...

Great find. And no warping on the center console! Two things I always look at first with Trans Ams: the warping on the center console and deteriorating spoilers. Not that either would keep me from buying one, but they nearly all seem to have issues in those areas.

My '88's almost twin, except for the digital dash.

I hope you at least saved a few for when you have to r&r that power antenna motor

Great looking car btw, you rarely see that year GTA in the wild.

I've changed quite a few of those power antennas and have those mastered. They're a breeze if you use the Jeep replacement. One is on the way already 👍

I'm using a Crown antenna as well, seems to be holding up well. It may be the angle of the pic, but the driver side fender GTA emblem looks to be out of position. Has the car had any body/paint work? Do you have an idea of when it will be available, I have a friend who is interested?

Yeah i noticed that emblem, too. I think it's had the driver's door and fender painted. I don't see any evidence of repairs, and there's nothing on the Carfax. I'm going to put the emblem in the right spot

That car cleaned-up really nice; good deal on putting another one back on the road.

Re: 1990 GTA, 35k miles...

Well, I'm still making progress. Stage 3 out of 5 of the buffing is done. Got the antenna, but still have to install it. It's looking like a different car!
