Dads car is back baby. 87 GTA 5.7 SLP 36k miles
I was 3 years old when my dad bought this TA. I remember a lot from when I was a kid, but my oldest childhood memory was the first time I saw this car.
Dad sold the car in 2009. After he passed away last year, I was able to track down the current owner. They agreed to sell right away (last year), then backed out last minute. They finally called a couple weeks ago to see if I still wanted it.. YES!
They didn’t drive it much. I believe dad sold it with just under 35k original miles. Here it’s sitting at 36,800. Still rides like new. :-)
This was a bit ago. Dad was waiting in the staging lanes (I believe epping NH)

You are more than blessed that the owners took such good care of your fathers car.

I’m for sure happy for that. It was a flawless 35k mile car w/original tires when it left. Not perfect now with a cheap radio, and 2-12’s in it that I need to get rid of, but minor things for the age and meaning behind the car for me.

It would not be a third gen if you did not have to work on it a bit. You will enjoy getting it back the way you want it. At least I would. Found memories of times past.

So cool that you'll be able to drive your Dad's car. What a great keepsake.

Yep. Bruce (I think that’s the owner of hawks name), bought it off my dad in 2009. We didn’t know anything about hawks back then. In 2018, I was randomly looking for ls parts for my 67 c10, and came across hawks website. I noticed that they were local to me. I clicked on the “cars for sale” section on their page, and saw it. Probably should have bought it back then, but didn’t.
I reached out to them last year when my dad passed. They reached out to the guy that bought it.

That is a really sweet GTA! Love the gun metal grey and SLP stuff, the the sentimental value is priceless. Glad you got it back and that it only needs a little work.
