Thanks all for the words of encouragement. Trying to get a bunch of work done over the next couple of months and will update again.

February 2024: Brake install
Front brakes are Baer 12” w/PBR calipers based on the 1LE. Rears are the stock PBR calipers, rebuilt. Calipers were disassembled, powder coated and reassembled. Baer pads and Baer rotors front and rear, braided stainless flexible brake lines and new hard steel lines. Also new park brake cables.

March 2024: Transmission Install
The T56 went in without too much trouble. Cut the hole for the shifter and added rivnut threaded inserts for the lower shift boot because I didn’t like the idea of sheet metal screws. Hawks T56 conversion crossmember, had to trim it a little because it interfered with the Alston subframe connectors. I got the one with the driveshaft loop, but I’m thinking it may interfere with the exhaust. Will find out when I get there and if I have to cut the loop off, so be it.

March 2023: Install headers
The headers are a tight fit, so I waited to install them until the transmission was installed and the engine/trans were in their correct position in the car. Dyno Don headers with AIR tubes. The quality of these headers are exceptional and they fit perfectly. Sure is easier to install these with an empty engine bay.

Re: 1989 Trans am GTA Restoration Thread
Yes, they are Bilsteins purchased 20 years ago and they are no longer made. They were on the car for about 5,000 miles before I took the car off the road. They are in very good shape, but are old. They don't leak now, but we'll find out how they hold up when I start driving it again. If they leak, I'll send them back to Bilstein to be rebuilt.
