Re: "it" has begun....
very nice!! Still have my "original", it say reman on it - I don't recall replacing it, but must have somewhere between 1992-1994. but it does have a similar stamp and black bolt. when I bought a NOS alt recently, I noticed the bolt not being black, don't think it had the stamp either, like my "original". now I'm curious and want to drive over there and find out! everything else was identical.

That's a seriously good tire.
That tire has so much lateral grip that it'll overwork a stock suspension. They're simply amazing.
They do throw a lot of rocks though. And they make a really annoying sound when traveling over repair strips on asphalt, like the sound of radio static crackling. You'll see what I mean.

Re: "it" has begun....
One of the fuel stops on the way to Carlisle PA. Checking the load and struck up a conversation with this young family about cars when i had the trailer door open. The subject turned to their young daughter, found out she was going to have open heart surgery next month. So i had to get this picture for them. That little girl was really all smiles!

Saw you there, very cool car! I was sitting with my kid while you tried to “quietly” drive by since she was sleeping lol. Not sure if you subconsciously knew, but I appreciate the effort either way lol.

I don't know how I missed you at Carlisle. I somehow missed the Hawks booth also. How was it that you weren't parked with the rest of us way out in left field? I wasn't happy with the layout of the event, I feel we should have been all together in one section of the fairgrounds.

Honestly, I was supposed to be over there with all the thirds. I stumbled into the Hawks booth looking for all the thirds right behind/beside the T building and started speaking with them and Mike B. Since I was late and trying to figure out where to go, Mike told me to park by Hawks booth.
It was my 1st time being there and it was pretty cool imo. I wish I could have been there longer to see and do more buuuuuut work/life.

Very nice! I have a speed shop in my area. If those were my rims I'd take them down there for mounting. They use a Hunter Engineering touchless tire machine.

Thanks guys, The pictures are a bit deceiving and make them look really good, the truth is they do have a lot of scuffs, nicks and general blemishes. Perfect match for the car!

Re: "it" has begun....
Couple things I noticed between the original 1991 red wheels and the later run of silver wheels.
red wheels have "made in W Germany"
silver wheels have "made in Germany"
both have the same wheel casting manufacturer logo and its the same as a lot of the oems are using even today. This wheel casting company is on a episode of "how it's made", free to watch it to.
If you look close @ 3:55, you'll see the same cast in logo on these wheels.

Rims: nothing like made in W. Germany, oh and yes, they make great tanks..... I have one - it weighs about 4500 pounds but still can blow away my Formula which weighs in at what,,,, 1000 pounds less? So about those tires, always interested in something other than Michelin Pilot 4S. Do they out perform on dry street pavement? And what are they, can't read the stickers? Or is it time to get new glasses?

Was joking about a giant boat of an old german made car i have, just trying to be a comedian, guess I'm not very good at it. But the question was about the tires, always looking for a better tire than the Michelin's, which seem unbeatable??

Falken Azenis RT660 is a 200 tread wear track/street tire for dry surfaces. It's a mean tire.

That's a Japanese material standards / testing standards logo...kind of like seeing a UL mark on an electrical item.

Thank you for the indepth info, I had heard about the marking but hadn't really dug up any info.
. I have recently found out the repo wheels don't have that mark so guess they aren't made in Japan
