Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
That's really a shame what's happening to your old car. That kid deserves a swift kick, and then a smack upside the head.
I've been thinking about selling mine for another Trans Am, except with a 5-speed. I would probably feel the same way as you do right now. It is my first car, so it has sentimental value. I couldn't stand to watch it get beat to death if I sold it. Even if the right car came up for sale, I probably couldn't do it.

But kmc, definitely sucks to see where the car is now. But honestly, rather than constantly reminiscing and regretting your decision, I'd focus more on the good times with the Z28 you replaced the Firebird with. You might have fond memories of your Firebird, but now it's best to move on and focus on doing memorable things with the Z.

oh i have, but your first is always your first, i wouldnt think about it so muchif this kid wasn't 2 mins from my house just at the bottom of my hill, i see it driving constantly i hear the rod knocking and think "just a bit longer and all your pain will be over" still hoping, waiting for it to go and him to take it to the only junkyard around really and then i'll have me a great rolling chassis waiting for my 3x00 hybrid and a fuel cell and rollcage and my friends and i will go lemons racing with it

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
i've never seen a yellow iroc in person, i'd love one only thing about a yellow iroc with black leather interior and ttops and the 305tpi 5 spd combo that i'd mess with is the seats, i bet theres a way to swap some same era Corvette buckets in

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
I searched for over three years to find one to replace my first. I added rimis similar and exhaust tips similar to the old one and tint. it isnt the same but I have more power and still a nice look to it and much more fun to drive since I bought one with a 5 speed. I cant believe I thought the auto was fun at all!

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
Dude I miss half the cars I have sold, but the one I miss the most is the 72 Nova I had last summer. I think about that car every day. It was not perfect and really my TA is a better car, but the Nova just had the cool factor that my TA does not have and may never have. I have seen a few of my old vehicles that I kept so nice and made them look so good get trashed, but that's life. Like everything in life we have to move on and make the best of what we have today.

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
My old 305/5 speed pretty much idled at 60 mph and got 25 mpg. I'd rather spend a little extra and drive what I like

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
So far I like you, which is why I've tried to be helpful, but posting this nonsense isn't helping. There are a few LSx / T56 thirdgens getting this MPG with more power than any Toyota ( non-turbo-Supra ) could ever wish for. The rest don't care about MPG, or I could say there are plenty. But a few is enough to prove what is achievable.

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
while that may be true, i dont have the time to take the car off the road and spend that money on an lsx t56 swap, nor do i have all the knowledge i feel i'd need to complete one, now can i save up a few grand and buy a nicer then most dd while i break my camaro down to a subframe and re-do everything gm did at the factory only better, i sure hope so cuz thats my plan
