82 T/A

I'm not sure if there's a correct place for this.. But I like getting advice so .

Car is located here: http://portland.craigslist.org/yam/cto/2888494443.html

Asking 1850 for:
82 Trans Am.
lg4 305 145hp.
97k miles
after market wheels/tires

Owned the car since 1987, says he needs to sell to pay for kids last 2 college classes. The weak engine doesn't bother me terribly because I'm really into the LSx engines.. I just dunno if i'd ever have funds for the swap >.>

Error in the post that i'm pretty sure about is HO 305. HO didn't come out till 83/84?

Problems:
Slight clear coat peel?
Interior looks like it needs to be cleaned really well or replaced
No radio..?
Auto >.> I like manuals but mehh
Steering wheel is coming apart.

Pro's
"Been stored" I'm assuming it hasn't sat in the weather for terribly long.
Power bulge hood?
Decent paint for the year? Looks stock to me.
I like this modeling year.
Aftermarket dual exhaust.
Carbs rebuilt (not sure if this is a pro..?)
Clear title and tags

Now my question is.. Knowing all this, without knowing how it runs. Is this a reasonable price for them to ask? What are your opinions on the car?

This would not be a Daily Driver because I got my 94 toyota corolla to beat on .

Re: 82 T/A

Well, dashpad has been replaced, not the correct style for 82-84, which is no biggie, just pointing it out if your a purist. As far as price, I paid $2000 for my 91 which is about as clean as that car, and very reliable, so if it runs well I'd say the price is fair. H.O. is an error, its an LG4, again no biggie. I love the 82's specifically so I'd probably take a look at it if it was local, can't hurt for you to go take a look.
