85 TA Black and Gold
Been working body and paint in my new garage since late Summer. Finally drove it yesterday. Before:
Today (in the garage):
Hope to do the final buff and polish tomorrow. Supposed to be mid-60's and sunny. Can't buff worth crap in the garage (and it slings all over the tools and stuff). There's a bunch of compound still showing in this pic that hasn't been cleaned.

Re: 85 TA Black and Gold
love the black an gold theme...great look for the TA's
Is that a Pontiac Gold- looks closer to the Mopar/maybe the pic
I used theMopar gold before to just have a slight darker gold and so i wouldnt actually match any stock combo....kinda lil step to just be a lil different.
Sweet look though

Re: 85 TA Black and Gold
I hope my own looks that good some day.
That gold definitely is darker than the stock. Looks slightly copper-ish. Could just be the lighting in th garage though.
I look forward to seeing more pictures. I'm still undecided on whether or not to replace the stripes along the bottom after I get around to the body work. Seems to look fine plain.

I'm not going back with the square dot fade striping along the bottom and I'm trying to find a kit that excludes them but still has the solid 'TRANS AM' decal. All I've found so far is the '87 kit that has the outline 'TRANS AM'.

I found the tail lights at the JY a few weeks ago. Scored a decent leather steering wheel the same day.

Old tail lights:
Sweet deal for under $25 and the left over head light polish stuff from doing my wife's VW.
Random pic from trip to FLA in October:
How COOL...
(That was taken from my Camaro.)

Re: 85 TA Black and Gold
What a beautiful 85 TA. Black and gold color scheme defines 3rd gen TA's for me. I'll have to settle for my dark red monochrome bird.

Re: 85 TA Black and Gold
Gorgeous car. The color combo is fantastic.
I don't think you'll find anything like that. From the factory, 85-86 had the solid lettering, but they came with striping. 87-90 had no striping, but came with the outlined decals.
Try giving Phoenix Graphix a call, I'd bet they'd be willing to assemble a custom kit with exactly what you're looking for.
