F-body twins

Guys, figured I'd post pix of the '91 Trans Am I recently cleaned up. Bought the car for $950, it had moss growing on it. Here it is now. T5 swap, I rebuilt the engine, new fuel pump, brakes, fuel and brake lines, re-painted the decklid, lowered 1.5", the list goes on. The car is far from perfect and will eventually get a whole new paint job. Here it is just buffed and waxed with my IROC.

Re: F-body twins

I hope you plan to add the spoiler when you paint. It just adds so much to the rear.
Nice IROC by the way.

Heh, I took the spoiler off. I have no plans to put it back on. In person, I like the car better without it.

Nice set of third gens you got there. I could go either way on the wing.

No, this was under a tree near a lake. It was sitting in tall grass rotting away with moss growing on the spoiler and the ground effects.

Matter of opinion. Everyone that has seen the car in person has said they liked it better than they thought they would. Its not so much that the car looks good with no wing, but that the 91-92 spoiler is borderline gaudy and overdone IMO. If it gets a wing it will be the 2 pedastal style found on early TAs and later firebirds.

It looks good without the wing. Then again it would look good with it.

Nice score! It looks great. Any before pictures of the body and such? Definitely sounds like a fun project. Are you planning on keeping it?

I don't have any good before pix of the body. Basically it was dull, and had moss growing between the spoiler and rear window, and in the ground effects. I do plan on keeping the car unless someone offers me a decent amount for it...

Well this one found me actually. Co-workers brother ended up with it because a lady couldn't afford her furnace repair bill. I bought it as a parts car but it was in such a good shape I got attached.....

Nice pair of cars. We'd love to see one of them at Thirdgen Fest. You can find out all the info through the link below.

Re: F-body twins

I've never been to thirdgenfest and am very strongly considering it this year. I doubt my wife would be coming along, so I'd only be bringing one of the cars. Depends on the weather outlook for the weekend. My IROC and rain do not get along well...
