This is my first post.

I bought a 1989 Camaro RS with a stock 305 TBI in really great shape, one minor dent on the rear driver's side, I'll fix that before paint. Someone or quite a bit of work into the suspension, still trying to figure out what I've got there. It came with headers, cat, and exhaust system to be installed, for 3000.

I was told it had a coolant issue. I changed the thermostat, CTS, the heater core, I ran the line for the core directly from the manifold to the core and directly from the core to the radiator. I'm not loosing coolant but I am loosing heat in the car, it works like it's on low mode then it goes to normal temperature. I pulled the stock manifolds off and put on the headers and y pipe. I reprogram the computer to deal with the extra air flow.

This is my main concern with the vehicle at this moment. I just don't want to overheat and have to take it all apart 😂

I want to remove the ac and smog pump, without a delete pulley. I believe I found an article on here where I can even use the same belt?

I have a LOT of plans for this vehicle so and input, advice or constructive criticism is very welcome and appreciated.

Congratulations on the Camaro and first post! Looks like a solid car that you can clean up as you go. Interesting that since you rerouted coolant hoses that you are not losing coolant but are losing heat. Could there be a blockage somewhere, in the heads, bad water pump? You could get a cheap infrared heat gun from harbor freight and check temperatures around engine at different driving conditions. Maybe that you help check coolant flow? Is your dash engine temperature gauge working?

I will be picking one up and keep updates coming. The guages for temp is a little finicky. I start the car and it immediately hits 160 but then the car doesn't go over I'd say the 220 mark.
