2023 Wifes Christmas present
We had a 86 IROC back in 90 sold after we had kids and needed larger vehicle, she always wanted another and we kept saying someday, well last week was the time. bought out of Nashville and shipped to us in Oklahoma. it is not perfect but has good bones and will get back into shape easily. Our first convertible and looking forward to taking it on 100th anniversary of route 66 coming up ..Chicago to Cali

I love that it still has original radio. Good sign it has never been molested. Keep it that way.

Gorgeous car. If that doesn't make you husband of the year, I don't know what would.
You said that it's not perfect, but it sure looks close.

Looks well cared for and unmolested too. Not from the rust belt too so the bottom should be solid. Santa did good!

Looks great! My '89 will look just like it, when I am done refurbishing it, this spring.

Re: 2023 Wifes Christmas present
Just some small details, the repaint job didn't get completed correct with headlight buckets to Black like they should be, cruise control not working, trip meter not working, tonneau cover release mechanism missing. All fixable. We've taken it out on two small shakedown trips to okc and a small town west of us to eat out and have had no issues used up a full tank of fuel. Had many headturners it's amazing we haven't seen another 3rd gen on the road yet. It is going to be a great car for us.

Re: 2023 Wifes Christmas present
Since getting back into 3rd gens six years ago, I bet that I haven't seen more than five 3rd gen Camaros on the road. As for Firebirds, I honestly can't remember the last time I saw one.
It sort of surprises me, given the interest and traffic on this site and other 3rd gen sites, plus a number of Facebook pages. There's always a decent number for sale at any given time on eBay. So they're out there, but I guess most aren't driven often. But then I think back to 1990 when I bought my first 3rd gen. How many 35-year old cars did I see on the road back then? Virtually none.

Making it correct, purchased the correct ones already but the hack that put blisters on drilled holes in wrong place so ruined a vin decaled original hood. I might find a good body shop to try and fill holes but it still would have to be repainted, so for now the blisters stay.. wife says she likes them but I'm not a fan

Don't let a repairable problem get you down. This can be re-done by somebody competent and save the hood. Yes, it will cost more than another hood, but if you want to keep it totally original, do what you need to do.
Mighty nice car--and when it comes time, be on the lookout for a yellow '92 Firebird convertible when you're on the Route 66 tour. I plan on getting my car ready for that long haul too. Once in a lifetime!

Nice car! Nothing like a convertible, that's why I have two TA Verts.
I tried to buy my wife a 4th Gen base 6 banger firebird for our 35th Wedding anniversary back last May, (she has no need for speed,) but she wasn't interested....Instead she opted for a Saturn Sky Roadster....LOL!!!
