New Member/New Car Intro
Hi Everybody!
Super quick intro, since I recently joined this forum: My first car was a '70 Camaro (many moons ago), followed by a '73, and then a '69 (actual 4-wheel-disk Z28). Then a few decades went by with no Camaro (but four Chevy trucks, ranging from '68-'90). Spent some time with Italian cars (time trialed an Alfa GTV/6 for several years, still have a 308 in my garage too). The last few years have been primarily motorcycle-related, but six months ago a decided I really needed another Camaro. Wanting something "classic" that I would actually drive a lot, 3rd Gen seemed perfect. A few weeks ago I brought this home... '92 solid roof 5.7 G92 Z28. I've now put a couple hundred miles on it, and I LOVE IT! It's completely stock other than a Borla catback and adjustable KYB shocks/struts. The only things I've found under the hood that aren't original are a pair of K&N filters and a TPI airfoil. I have no radical plans for the car, just little things (other than driving it a lot)... Although I would love to do a T56 swap sometime in the future.
Having no real experience with these cars, I'm sure I'll have questions moving forward. But my only immediate plans are making sure all maintenance is up to date. Here it is:

Congratulations on your purchase. Beautiful car. Great score on the service manuals, definitely a must have. Where did you find it? I had no idea there was a volume 2? I have the same manual for my '91 but with no volume 2. I wonder what is the difference.

Maybe consider contacting UMI - wait for next holiday for 10% off sale - and buy some sfc (sub frame connectors). Car is getting close to 30th bday, keep the car staying nice and tight/rattle free(er).

Yes, I've already been thinking in that direction... I think I'll start with a wonder bar from Lon (TDS)... I've done a bunch of research on steering braces, and it seems that Chevy stopped installing them after the '90 IROC. I guess they wanted to save the $9 they probably cost at the factory.

Just saw your car, that is a sharp Z28 and I really love that shade of blue.
