It’s the original color, 1984 GM code 27, Med. Royal Blue Met. The difference is that it is a modern urethane paint and we used a black sealer under the 3 coats of paint. 4 coats of clear, cut, and polished.

Blue?
My color rendering must have had a stroke. Looks gun metal grey the same as my Coupe.
Nice job all the same.

Making progress. Exterior is complete less the diffuser and rear hatch. I’m going to install the carpet and headliner before the hatch.

The car is fantastic. Very well done. How do you like those magnaflow mufflers? Any drone at cruise speeds?

Re: 1 of 1 Z28
Thanks, this car is going to be the death of me. The “mufflers” are loud! I would not want to do a Power Tour in this car, although I haven’t driven it any further than what you see here after installing the interior (which is not yet finished). When I started this project I wanted to retain the rear seats. If I had known then that I was going to do the rear seat delete, I would have cut out the rear seat buckets and put some real mufflers on. I could have put a 2.5” dual exhaust and it would be a bit quieter, but it would also choke the power and where is the fun in that? Thanks again for following along over the years, I really appreciate it.

I drove it for the first time today, gave it a good wash, and put about 20 miles on it. It will be debuted at the Pacific Northwest Camaro Show this weekend.

Agreed. New colour name. "Gunmetal Blue".
Looks great. (I've looked into those door handles too.)

Thank you, I really appreciate the support and how well the car was recieved at the PNWCC show. It generated a lot of attention and I meet a lot of really great people. It feels good to have been so well recognized for my efforts. Thank you all again.

Everytime I look at your car I see new details that I didn't notice prior. Your seat and door panel combo is very nice and subtle. What seats are those? Apologies if you already mentioned them, I'm lazy...

The car has come full circle. It is finished and it’s time to move on to the next project. I want to thank everyone here at TGO for their years of support and encouragement. I’ve enjoyed my time with this community of enthusiasts.

Re: 1 of 1 Z28
A pretty successful show season. 5 shows, 3 awards.
This was the first summer of car shows for my recently completed build. It was very well received and I had a great time showing off during the abbreviated season. I’m looking forward to next year’s season and auto cross it a few times.

Re: 1 of 1 Z28
I added a muffler to the system for a total of three. It is noticeably less raspy and a bit quieter, but still has a nice rumble. I haven’t driven it yet, just idling in the garage, so I can’t comment on the drone level at this time. Overall it is an improvement over what it was prior to the new muffler. It fits perfectly in the center bay of the rear diffuser, so it’s barely noticeable visually.

Re: 1 of 1 Z28
I’m glad you responded. I remember that you had the same issue with your exhaust that I had. I believe that you had mentioned doing something similar to this, but with the Vibrant Ultra Quite resonators and a dual inlet/outlet transverse muffler. I can tell you that it helped calm my car down a bit, probably 10-15 db. With the Ultra Quiets you may have even better results. Let me know if you do this mod and post the results in your build thread, I have been following your progress from the beginning. Thanks for the compliment and your support. I appreciate it.

I haven't made any exhaust changes yet (had other priorities for the car) but will likely make a change in the upcoming weeks. I think I am going to try some of the smaller spintech mufflers in place of my bullets. I had my eyes on Vibrant as well but it is still a bullet style regardless what they claim. Too much financial risk there.

Thank you. Your build is going to give mine a run for its money. I love the leather interior and the turbocharged LS, as they say “forget bout it “.
