92 RS

I picked up a 92 RS with a blown head for $750 today in Vancouver, WA. It's about an hour drive from Salem, OR. Not to mention I didn't buy it until 2 hours after I first seen the car in person... People don't charge their phones when people are coming to buy their items i guess. When I got there, this car was BONE dry. Not a drop in the radiator .

It is a 305 TBI with T5, 225k miles, oh. The Speedo and Odo don't work. Once I can pull the Iroc out of the garage I'll crawl under :S It's a little rough on the exterior, but the interior really looks great IMO. And is mostly the reason I bought it. Something I love about this car already is that it made the hour drive home with a blown head at 220-240* (due to be replaced and checking heads) and it is ALL manual. Manual locks, window and hatch, AC blows cold. I'm not really sure what the wheels are but they'll probably get replaced by some gold Iroc's. The "Racing" seats are "3A Racing", not sure how I feel about them. Rust inspection on the floor boards will commence tomorrow morning. This will probably be the home for my rebuilt 305TPI and T56 I'm building.
Let me know what you think.

Nice car. Can you post more pictures of the interior/seats. I have been looking at a similar seat for a while.

Re: 92 RS

Buggy let me know specifically what you want pictures for.

Also, i pulled up the carpet and it is ~99.7% rust free! even under the drivers left foot is rust free. Im loving it. I found almost 7 dollars in change aswell. Researching the 411 ecm swap with my tpi.

What wheels are those? Hard to tell from the pictures. They look interesting though.

All they say are "mb wheels". I'll look through a folder and see if i can find a receipt

Found it. Says "mb chaos mtb"

Re: 92 RS

Was this car on Craigslist? My buddy James in Tacoma was gonna go look at it. Looks like you got a good deal!

Yeah it was on the Portland/Vancouver craigslist. I went and bought it the next day..
So I drove in the snow today, and the car came with some chains..So I used them.. Ended up popping my tire because they were the wrong size o.O

edit: My dad came and looked at the car yesterday and thinks it may just be leaking coolant out of the manifold gasket. So it might not even have a blown head.. lol

Re: 92 RS

A "blown headgasket" turned out to be a leaking intake manifold gasket. Replaced and now it doesn't run over 200! wooh!

Still need to fix the gas gauge and speedo. Sometimes it works, but its wayyy off.
