87 IROC-BOOST
Since not everyone ventures into the LSx swap board figured I'd post my 87 IROC here so everyone can see it. It's 95% done, and should run this week. Just finishing wiring. Run down on the car specs:
1987 IROC Camaro (Orginally a LG4 5-speed car)
LQ4 Block (now a 408)
Ares Pistons
Billet Rods
Billet Crank
Trick Flow heads
Holley Hi-Rise intake with Nick Williams 102mm TB
160lb Injectors
Custom Turbo cam from Hi-Tech Tuning
Lift Bar lifters
417 Motorsports Tubular Turbo headers
Twin Precision 67mm ball bearing turbos
Built 4L80E with trans brake
S60 rear end
BMR extreme drag torque arm
Spohn sway bars and LCA
C5 Z06 front brakes
Autometer Guages
10 point roll bar
I had a custom painted SS hood but it was stolen so currently its a ZL1 style hood although I'm not sure it's staying
CCW 3-Piece LM5 wheels 18x9 front 18x11 rear
Hopefully have video this week and possibly dyno video.

Re: 87 IROC-BOOST
So was all ready to start the IROC FINALLY and... nothing. Would crank all day but nothing. After lots of troubleshooting found it had no fuel pulse or spark. Pulled the wiring harness I have back out of the car and the Crank sensor wiring has been sliced like 8 times so hopefully thats all it is. Will try again today. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Re: 87 IROC-BOOST
Was this recorded on a VHS tape in 1978?
Only joking, sounds very healthy. I cannot wait to see it moving under it's own power.

Re: 87 IROC-BOOST
Found out the car had only been running on 4 cylinders... Fixed that problem. Slowly been getting all the wiring sorted and put away. Got the few little missing pieces now so I should be able to have it move under its own power this week with a dyno tune in the next few weeks hopefully.
Made this front support cover out of a sheet of carbon fiber. The part next to the nose fits like stock and will be drilling a couple holes in the rear and some stainless arp hardware. Soon...

Re: 87 IROC-BOOST
Drove the car for the first time in 3 years! Although not very far I was still able to drive it into the show we had this weekend and then took my wife and son around the block in the IROC. I will post the Video soon..
Wife in tears seeing the car move on its own power for the first time in years. Yep married the right one. LOL.
