What gear ratio? Because if it's the 2.73 I'm sorry. My 89 9 bolt BW had them. Cost about $1000 to swap to 3.70s bc the stupid 2 series carrier. I ordered a new 3 series from 9bolt.com.

I hated the 2.73. The 3.70 are niiiice!

Where you live in ohio? I see county 45 and I'm too lazy to look it up right now.

Find a used 3 series 9 bolt carrier and swap that and you can put whatever you want in. I was limited by time and wanted a fresh rebuilt one do I dropped the $500 or so on one from 9bolt.com. Can be had cheaper.

First full detail today! Also exhaust came off to mod for some extra ground clearance, headers are coming off for paint, intake is coming off for porting. lots of projects to get done on top of that stuff, busy spring ahead!

Thanks! big fan of your car as well, and that is a superior 500 wheel from the mid 60s, my dad had it hanging on the garage wall forever so I took it down, restored it and threw it on the car, I love it!

Not much to update, ran into a small oil leak issue, thought it was the pan but ended up being mostly valve covers, so now my old Mickeys are back on finally

Scored a truck load of parts today, price I couldnt refuse, among the parts were these wheels, I usually dont like them but they dont look bad at all, quick flip, $10 for these, brand new tires on the back

cleaned up well

M/T valve covers, chrome Cragar Sawblades - nice period correct mods! Now all you need is some under car neon and you'll have one of the hot cars from my high school days back in the 80's.

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)

They're clean and fit the look of the mid 80's sport coupe; gives it a real nostalgic look since not many people are running them anymore. Use them until you wear out the tires while you save for what you really want. They look better than the z28 wheels you had on it.

That is exactly the theme of the car, but still they are pizza cutters lol the front tires are JUNK, these wheels will end up on my dads 67 since it needs 2 tires, and the rears are brand new

Alright guys, last few days I have been restoring these Irocs, sanding, polishing and painting. Turned out awesome! Center caps are coming soon.

Here they are on the car, still have 2 more to do

Nice car, I love seeing clean sports coupes. Have you ever considered removing the bump guards on the doors?

I have, but I cant, the car has rust issues, taking them off would show some of the hidden rust

Nice car man! Why do people not like the bumpers on the doors? I just had mine repainted and I was talked into not putting them back on but it feels almost weird that they are not there.

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)

Car is up in the air for some work, lots of things to do before the GM nationals! Got a lot done today and will continue tomorrow morning. Today we did ebrake cables, took out the heater core to replace it (new one didnt fit, just blocked it off for now) Still have to finsh the last bit of the cables, hang the new exhaust, change rear springs and cut the front springs tomorrow, it's getting there! Also below is more photoshop lowering, more rake than I wanted, but Im not very good at photoshop lol

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)

Here are a few pics I've snapped recently, and notice the new center caps, guess how much they cost me? Nope, you're wrong! About $5, engine freeze plugs!
