Just bought a L98 88 Iroc (pics)
Hey guys
Today I bought a 1988 L98 T5 Burnt orange TTop Iroc. So far I love it. I was going to do an auto to manual swap in my 91 305 Z, and then saw this car for sale, so I had to buy it.(it was already a manual, plus 350)
It's got a 3" cat back with an electric cutout and flowmaster muffler along with K&N filters. She's also got 4 wheel disc. I plan on redoing the interior and painting the car in order to make it nicer than my 91 Z. The car runs great. Its WAY stronger than my 305tpi.
Specific Plans:
Painted Original Burnt Orange Color
18/19 C6 Z06 wheels
ProCar Sportsman Seats
Maybe Hawks 5" Spoiler
Lowered about 2"
Some headers
Pro 5.0 Shifter
Detail the engine
Tint side windows
Now for pics!

Beautiful car.
I would think about refinishing the gold IROCs, and applying the gold decal package and stripes, after paint of course.

Thanks guys. I am going to apply the IROC stripe package after paint, however I'm still deciding on what color. The Iroc wheels are in great shape. No curb rash on any of them, they just need a good cleaning. I will clean them up and hold on to them as I do switch back and forward towheels alot.
So far I cleaned the car inside and out. The headlight buckets were painted and masked poorly, so I re-sprayed them and it looks alot better. The louvers will be coming out tomorrow and getting sprayed semi gloss aswell.

Wow, nice find. Is that the original engine ? 350/stick and ttops ? thought they only tried that in 89 ? or maybe a special dealer order.

Its an original 350 car. The PO swapped the 5 speed in. If you think about it thats a pretty rare combo even though it's not original. 350, manual, with ttops.
I'll hold on to the z28 for a while. There's a small chance I'll sell it and put the money into the IROC. I'm not entirely sure as of now.

I got a LONG list of everything I want done to the car. First thing is paint and body work. It was painted about 5 years ago and its a solid 10 footer. Theres some scratches and nicks, however it is just a stage 1 paint job, so it has no clear coat.
As of now I am going to paint it sunset orange metallic with silver or/and black Iroc-z decals. I saw this car at a show and its sunset orange. Its a cell phone pic, but check out the hood on the firehawk though!
