Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
Thanks!
Well guys, a couple of months ago, the morning I was going to go to the junkyard to pick up the T5 conversion parts, I found a 88 Iroc with a L98 5 speed for sale. So I bought it with intentions to sell the 91 and build the Iroc since it was already a stick car, plus it had the 350. After daily driving the Iroc for a couple of months I figured, I just can't part with the 91 Z. It's simply too nice of a car. So now I'm selling the Iroc and back to building the 91 z28.
Before this week, I haven't done anything to the 91 since early may. But now I'm working on suspension stuff.
I lowered the front of the car about 1.5". It was much needed. I will lower the rear about an inch more to level it out a little.
I'll get a couple more suspension parts such as an adj panhard bar, STB, relocation brackets, and etc. But I'm just going to take it one step at a time.

Good move! Keep the 91! has a very nice stance right now, and should look great once you settle the back down. What's the plan after you finish suspension stuff? Just curious..

Glad to see you're keeping the '91. It's nice condition is a very rare trait. Selling a your very nice first car to buy an older IROC-Z just because it's a 5.7L/T5 sounded a little silly to me.

I'm glad you decided to keep your '91 Z28. You would have hated yourself for letting it go. I've got an IROC and I love it but, I would like to have a '92 Z28 parked next to it in the garage someday.
It's really hard to find a clean '91-'92 Z28 now. You can easily swap out the 305/700r4 drivetrain for a 350/T-5 set up in your '91 like you were going to do in the IROC.
