I'm working on the interior right now, but when I comes to motor time I'm going to need all the help I can get lol! A lot of my funds seem to get diverted to home projects now since I bought a house with a bigger garage. Soon she will be in running condition.... soon.

Re: My new $300 86 Iroc-z28

Are those the halos that go directly onto the headlight housing? I recently saw some just like that in person and I did not like the look at all.

I would just go with the BMW headlights...

Re: My new $300 86 Iroc-z28

halos IMHO are completely pointless. and incredibly blinding to other motorists. my logic (if you can't see enough of the road to drive safely with the factory headlights or equivalent [silverstar bulbs ect ect] then you don't need to be driving)

I don't think you understand the difference between standard and "Halo" housings, halo's are only on when the **** is pulled out one click, the "halo" is around the outer edge of the glass, once you turn the headlights on, the halo's are not visible any longer(on your typical setup)

HID's are what blind other drivers, only because people decided its a good idea to use them in fake projector housings(no control of the light output) or without projectors at all

when done properly with real projectors, HID's make a world of difference driving at night, and will not blind oncoming motorists, they also aren't cheap

Re: My new $300 86 Iroc-z28

Yea already took em off. Deloomed the engine harness and laid it out in the engine bay today also hooked up the amp to make sure it works which it does very happy with it. As far as headlights go I dont know what i will do maybe stock, e36(halo/non halo), projectors, aftermarket housing(black/chrome)... so many options. Already have the clear smoked housing side markers and will be getting the clear black turn signal housings so food for thought....

The idea for this was a more modern 86 in terms of interior comfort, drivetrain, and ease of swap huge reason why I went with 4th gen wiring made everything simpler for me. Then there's the led lighting, temp/comp mirror etc. I've owned two other stock 86 camaros one sc and a Iroc so with this one I wanted something different.

The build looks awesome. It's nice to see a car so far gone being restored. I'm not a big fan of the fourth gen interior, though.

Plan is to buy a 86 lens and housing and place it over the leds basically brighter and cooler than the stock setup also could wire up each strip to one side of the turn signals and make them sequence but its a third brake light so the after burner leds work for me. Also another idea you could cut them down and place them inside the glass so you dont have to use a housing. Link to the leds below
