how can i make my stock 89 camaro faster
my 89 camaro rs is stock and i want it to be faster. so if anybody got any ideas plz let me no the price and the item. thank you

As you can see people on here can be *******s. With that being said you gotta give more than i just wanna go faster. i think the best way is to swap in a LS-1 tyoe motor and go from there. But that depends on your budget and such.

Go to the power adders section and take you pick. The best thing for you to do is spend some time looking at posts of what others have done and decide what is best for you.

Do a search on "advancing the timing" and another on "changing rear gear ratio"and one on "Eaton Posi.". Read up on those and you will get a idea of some items that will help you off the line.Adjusting the timing is free, but you will need a timing gun and the knowledge needed to do it right. The gear swap and Eaton posi. cost a little more.To do it right with all new bearings,seals,28 spline axles,28 spline Eaton Posi.,ring and pinion(gears),and install will run you into just over $1,000.00.If you decide to get this up-grade I strongly suggest a L.P.W. Support Cover for the differential. It adds needed strength to the entire assembly.They run about $160.00.I did thees up-grades to my Daily Driver and it makes a huge difference.Love the way it has changed the "fun factor" when I get on it or just driving around town.Pulls nice and hard for a little 5.0.( would also include a "shift kit with Corvette servo. )Do searches on thous up-grades and read as much as you can because your knowledge and installation concerning those items will compliment any and all other up-grades.

no idea what direction you wanna go so
lose weight, theres an article in the technical articles section on the home page saying all these things you can do to lose weight.
bolt ons will help
a better air intake
under drive pulley
headers + catback, a single 3" will be enough
3.73s or 4.10 gears
higher ratio rockers or a cam
port the heads
battery relocation to trunk to offset weight
shocks and springs to help with traction/handling
LCAs + panhard bar as well
a higher stall converter and a shift kit would be a must

Anyway welcome to the forum
Look at the tech articles link on the home page its got lots of cool stuff
Headers exhaust and a open breather will really light it up, a new prom chip works, and the only real chip is one that u pull a chip out to put the new one in not that crap on ebay. Advancing the timing a little helps too .... A good ignition system is nice also

Personally I started in this order:
1, look for all parts that are worn out/broken and replace.
I found quite a lot of those worn out and broken parts in the suspension and brakes. Mostly worn out.
Expect to spend $2500 at least to replace for mostly stock components.
Expect $4000 or more if you decide to upgrade.
With that done, decide on whether you want to stick with the 305 TBI, or if you want to replace the engine. Large part of thsi consideration should go in how much power you want, and your overall budget.
If you live in the US, consider swapping the engine. It might be the cheaper route in the long run.

If you're on a budget, and think 300 HP / 400 ft-lb of torque will do, stick with the 305 TBI.
In that case best start with an open aircleaner and do some research on headers and a full exhaust. As well as a rear end swap. Something like a 3.05 or 3.42
If you're not on a budget, look into an engine and transmission swap. Still look into the rear end swap
