My new 88 IROC donor

Hey guys!!

So i never thought that I would own more then 1 fbody in my life but here i am. I just bought an '88 IROC. lol even tho its alot more or a valuable car then my '84 sport coupe, im useing the iroc as a donor car.

I plan on getting rid of the car soon tho. basicly my plan is to swap out the rear end into my 84 sport coupe, so i can do real burnouts lol, and it will be upgrading prom drum brakes to disk.
Then im gonna put the ground effects on my car.

and i need a lil input from u guys on here, cause i believe the irocs were lower then the sport coupes huh? i was thinking of putting the iroc springs in my car as well if they r lower.

and finally i was gonna take a look into seeing how hard it would b to take the power windows out and into my car lol

lemme know what you guys think lol, i no its kinda ugly paint job, but like i said i dont want to keep the car.

oh btw my 84 sport coupe

Re: My new 88 IROC donor

is the iroc in bad condition or something? because it seems like a smarter move to just have a real iroc instead of an 84 that looks like one

no its in pretty decent shape, the interior is kinda bad, but ive seen way worse on here. and if your refering to the cheap price, its because hes not giving me the engine or trans, and the guy who is selling it to me is my friend.

and when it comes to looks, i just want the gfx, im gonna take off the iroc badges, cause i dont want ppl to think that its an iroc.

but secondly i dont feel like swapping EVERYTHING from my sc to the iroc. the iroc has less to swap over, and most importantly, my sc is my pride and joy, i cant just turn my back on it like that lol i dont care about the iroc. but i see where ur coming from

im in oneida WI, next to green bay. i plan on swaping the whole rear end, springs, ground effects, and maybe power windows in my car, so if u really wanted the iroc, it will have an open rear end from my sport coupe, and the springs too. if ur still interested lemme no, and ill get in touch with u when im done with it.

Re: My new 88 IROC donor

They may be corvette door handles or from a chwvy truck.3rd gens never came with flush door handles. If you are part out the Iroc, swap doors. I say leave the kit off the SC its much cleaner & less prone to rust. Strip the Iroc, take what you need & sell the rest. Im sure you can sell the body to someone who wants to build a drag car.

Re: My new 88 IROC donor

Holes to mount the kit, water getting in their. Well i live in Hawaii & everything rusts from all this salt air. If youbput a kit on your SC, put that year Z28 kit, just my oppinion.

lol i see, well i live in wi so the salt rust alot here too, but im not driving it in the winter. but just in case, u know of anything that will help stop the rust from drilling the body?

and as for getting the z28 gfx for my year, i think the 85 to 90 gfx are WAY better looking then the 82 to 84 gfx, hense the 88 iroc lol
