Re: hoods hoods hoods! post bad *** pics of your hoods
I know this is a major resurrection from the dead, but does anyone know where I can get a hood like this?
I need a small cowl hood, but I want to retain the original Iroc flavor with the louvres. This is perfect.
The Daytona Turbo hood would be close, without the side vents and a more straight cowl.
Anyone?
And isnt this NuffNuff's car before he got it?

Damn. Figured that was a one- off design. That hoods freakin sharp.
It'd be easy to build if it were on TV, probably could be made in half an episode of WCC or Boyd's.
Be a little harder for me to make it in my backyard tho....

start witha fibergalss hood cut it to the width you want, heat it to get it to bend or however one does that and then glass the sides in. looks fairly straight forward jusst have to have a knack for metal work or fiberglassing.

So I've been looking on eBay for like 2 years always typing in "82-92 Camaro marker light" but they never came up. It was until I looked up "iroc Camaro" that they finally came up. And now that I found that out I see them all over the place lol

bummer about the weather.
i never got into LEDS or neon, but that might look cool under the hood. kinda hard to tell from that pic.

I hadn't even thought of checking classic, & checking there made me think to check Rick's Camaros, The one I found on Rick's is the smoother design in the picture, but since it's $100 more than the classic one I might just call classic & see if I can get them to confirm whether theirs has the ridge on it or not.

We want you all to know that because of the comments on this forum about our cowl hoods, we have created a new part number, 152810 for the 2" inch cowl induction hood with the less pronounced center ridge, like the one Blue90 RS has pictured above. You may order this part number to be sure that you receive the hood with the smoother looking scoop. We will also continue to offer Part number 1668292, which is the 2" cowl hood with the more pronounced ridge. Please PM us if you have any further comments or questions about these hoods.

Hi Blue 90 RS,
It's great to see all of these interesting third gen hoods and read through the comments.

My hood is the AMD 4" Steel Cowl, purchased from Jegs
My favorite cowl as far as the shape of the cowl, and how it is angled on the sides.

Re: hoods hoods hoods! post bad *** pics of your hoods
Went to work on mine today. First day above freezing we've had in almost 2 weeks.
Picked up the harwood at the fall charlotte auto fair for $30. I hate pin on hoods. the cowl fits like a latex glove on the steel hood. Im gonna graft some blocks to the inside so i have something to put bolts into from the bottom. Then i'll seal it 3M around the edges with 3M emblem tape. A few more warm days and it'll be dunn.

Re: hoods hoods hoods! post bad *** pics of your hoods
So I've been looking for several days now and can't find any pics of this being done. Has anyone tried putting the 91/92 Z28 hood blisters on a sunoco hood? I am very curious as to how that would look!

Since not many people have the Harwood 6" Outlaw cowl hood here it is.
It is just sitting on the car, it has not been touched besides being scuffed.

As unusual as that hood is, it really looks cool, I like it. I like the way the hood opens, but it would be a pain to work on the car.

The car had a 4cyl. Sold that thank god. Yes, I see the stock 305's with 4" cowl and cherry bombs all the time.

Re: hoods hoods hoods! post bad *** pics of your hoods
It is actually easier to work on the car. Give me plenty of head room. If I needed more room I just take four bolts out and the hood is off. And the way the hinge is designed there is no realigning the hood when it goes back on.

Re: hoods hoods hoods! post bad *** pics of your hoods
Here are some updated pics of my freshly painted hood. As you may recall, I had posted pictures several months back (first page of this post)when the hood was primered, and the louver holes were freshly cut.
Here she is now...new paint and finished louvers! I hope to have the entire car buffed soon.
