Stock hood, Previous Owner painted the louvers flat red. doesn't look that bad from different angles it acturally looks pretty good. I'm replacing it for an SS hood when i get the extra money

You guys feel safe with that 1/2" lip on the front of your hood instead of flat like the stock was, sitting nice with the front bumper. I'm going to have this sanded down to fit snug with the front bumper when down and pinned. Also need to trim some of the sides of the hood to sit flush with the fenders.

I've seen quite a few people on here with that lip still on the hood. I just think it looks bad and would have wind hitting it straight, kind of making the little bit of aero these cars have go down. Its not that big of a deal since so many do it and have yet to have any problems just thought why nobody sands them down to fit like stock or to fit a bit better period.

i did some sanding today on my much needed custom hood. spent 5 hours hand sanding because all the grooves and angles.

I keep gettin a lot of comments on mine, so I figured I'd post it up here.

As far as cowls go... it's one of the best lookin ones I've seen. I dont like most of them... but I dig this one.

I want to repaint it to match teh car whenever the car gets repainted, but I've really started to like it being black... I may just do it semigloss black when I redo the car... dunno yet.

My car still needs paint, and I have patched that crack on the corner since the picture, just need to make it all flush for paint, also need to get new hood pins since the ones in that photo are really cheap quality...they rusted and the scuff plates got dented by the pins when putting the hood on, and need to figure out what to do to work them around the triangles, probably I will cut the scuff plates to contour it, I'll try it on the cheapo pair on their now before cutting up nice ones, see how it looks...I like the triangles because it sets it apart from the others, some PO had them added to it.

Also it was a bolt on hood, but since the threaded steel inserts were missing, I used it as a pin on, removed all of its substructure, so its just one layer of fiberglass now, weighs about 30 lbs, took out the hinges, shocks, hood latch, and release cable too.

I love it! Not too crazy big, and just sets the car off enough! I love how it gradually inclines from the very front of the hood instead of ramping up to the cow like halfway up. What hood is this?

some places call it the zl1 or something along those lines. harwood makes one version like above and theres another one that comes closer to the edge of the nose that the other oe pictured
