The car's been discussed on many of 3rdgen places... I think it's actually an '85 IROC, NOT an RS. There was a special "California" 1985 IROC made. It was only offered in red or black with RS hood and NO rear spoiler. That would explain:

-Black headlight pockets
-85-87 IROC wheels
-RS hood
-No spoiler
-Z28 grill

Plus I could be wrong, but the RS models didn't offer ground effects until 88, right? If it were an 88, the wheels would be wrong.

All of that being said, it still could be a conglomeration of parts, but everything screams 1985 California IROC to me.

suprised no one mentioned a SUPER poplular movie in the day. "scarface". there is 82-83 sport coupe in the back ground parked on the side of the street when tony montana chases that cuban out into the miami main strip and pops a cap into his head in front of the public. fairly early into the movie. ist funny because the movie was made in 83, but based on 1980 lol.

and honestly i cant remember the name of the movie but im GUESSING its called miami blues or something (alec baldwin is in it) but this hooker he dates in the movie has an 85-89 red trans am. its seen alot through out the movie

Don't watch tv often but everytime I've ever seen Cops the opening scene always shows either a white thirdgen bird running on its rims or a 4th. Genner getting smashed. Saw a grey bird on that show they had pulled over for drugs that had the tops off.

There's a couple fbodys in Terminator 2 including a blue thirdgen bird that's driven by two guys Arnold smacks around. One got smashed up in the new terminator too.

White 3rd gen Camaro in a parking lot in Sling Blade, where he buys the French fried taters.
