LS Swap Gauges in 82-84 Camaro

i have an 84 Z28 im LS Swapping with a 2002 5.3 and keeping my 700r4 (its built) question is mainly my speedo but all around i'm curious about how to get all my gauges working. i am seeing many confusing things i see Cable X here and there then i thought about it. Would my speedo still work due to the fact im using the exact same transmission? it is a later model 30 spline trans it has a speed sensor but it was in the car before i tore it apart am i fine to just plug it back in and run it? also how do i get Oil Pressure and RPM? also apologies if this is in the wrong area its my first post ever on TGO

Re: LS Swap Gauges in 82-84 Camaro

Ls1 single wire oil pressure sensor will read close enough on stock gauge. Tach output from ls factory ecm is a white wire and can connect directly to factory tach but when programming ecm put tach setting on 3 to register 8cyl. output correctly. I had to use a 10k resistor between the tach wire and an ignition wire to get my tach to work. Apparently the signal is too strong and needs to be bled down with some tachs. Im using 87 gauge cluster so yours may not need that.

Actually it's the other way around. The signal is too weak so you need to add a little DC voltage to it to drive the tach.
