Those with Headers - How'd you run your brake lines?
I got my new stainless brake lines installed over the weekend. They don't hug the frame as tightly as I'd like (yet). I pulled out the new Hooker 1 7/8 headers and placed them in the empty bay and it seems like they'll be really close to where the brake lines travel. I'll add some pictures of the current state of mine (didn't get a good shot of the passenger side).
Question for the forum - if you're running headers with your LS, particularly the Hookers, did you do anything special for the brake lines for the front? Re-route? Make sure they're tucked up tight? Pics?
Thanks!

Thanks. That gives me some hope. Here's a shot of the rest of my lines. Not much is tight to the body and will need further bending I believe. Somewhat disappointing for prebent lines, but it's probably par for the course. My main concern area is there on the passenger side where the brake line goes down between two parts of the K-member, right where the header travels. Wasn't sure how close the header got there.

Where did you get those? My stainless brake lines look like they were a lot tighter on the passenger side, and a better bend on the drivers side

Make your own, best way to get it right.

Bought through Firebird Central. Would have to dig out who they got them from (think it was inline tube). Overall quality seems good. The Hooker motor mount plates require you move the line that goes across the K-member, which I think is part of what I'm dealing with.
Scooter - recommendations for where to buy from for better fitment? Not that I want to spend more, but it could be worth it if they're significantly better.

I have also bought other lines from SStubes, I just can't remember what at the moment. They also made me a custom 1/2" fuel line for my 91 Formula in stainless. I haven't pulled that out of the box to straighten it though

Did some tweaking this evening to the lines, and drilled some holes to add clips. I think I got it pretty tight against the K-member, sufficient that I'm willing to move forward. I'll be running the Holley 302-2 pan, so I should have plenty of clearance on the back side of the K-member. Those with F-body pans couldn't run it this way.
It's hard to tell in the pictures, but it's even with the top of the K-member along the length and doesn't come out at all on the passenger side like before.
Front of K-member
Back of K-member

For best header clearance, I ran mine on outboard side of the steering shaft. Line lock and proportioning valve added in as well. Who doesn’t want line lock? 😉
