Re: LY6 carnage
Alright got new coil harness on runs very good now also seemed to get the coolant leak fixed for now. Have the exhaust all buttoned up fired it up today man what a let down its way to quite like only a notch or two above stock so much for being a race exhaust.

Re: LY6 carnage
A few small updates first some good news. I got it down on the ground seems to move around fine clutch works very good. Shout out to QwkTrip for some tuning help with the holley efi the IEA change made a big difference.
Now for the issues my holley efi isn't self learning at all at the moment worked fine on my last motor but found a few things to try to get it working. If that still fails I'm going to have to start fresh with a new start up tune. This other issue I'm not happy about at all I put in a new viper spec input shaft from AMP distributing and it makes so much noise you would think I have some monster blower under the hood or a nasty set of gear drives

Re: LY6 carnage
Thanks guys the input shaft noise is about gone the gears must be wearing in that's with only 600 miles on it.
Intake is airaid 4'' custom kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/AIRAID-CUSTO...53.m2749.l2649
Since I have the truck crack pulley I went with all LS3 Camaro accessorys

Then came time for me to put some fresh paint down! I went with a semi gloss black not perfect but nicer then it was. Also would like to add this was my first time painting a car. C7 brake kit up front.

I have been setting up the suspension at the same time i was working on everything else getting ready for my first autocross at the new UMI race track! Went with koni yellows on all 4s UMI front weight jacks 850lb and there 200lb rear springs. Also put in there torque arm and rear lower control arms with watts link. New wheels where on the list as well 18x10s just some cheap jnc wheels for now with RSRR 595 tires.

Re: LY6 carnage
I got to park my car for the winter in one piece first time in so long. Now i have been gathering LS7 parts for over the past year or so and just about had everything from intake to oil pan but just sold my ls7 block cause im going to go with a new TSP resleeved 427 block. Will be going with Race Proven Motorsports head and cam package it has been proven so many times I just have to give them a shot plus they work on more ls7 cars then anyone in the country. Also the stock bottom end c6 z06 record holder has this package as well. A old ls7 block pic and new monster twin disk waiting.

Re: LY6 carnage
I swapped the intank pump last summer from a 255 to the aeromotive 340 still on the vette filter/reg combo and all is fine so the question is there any reason why this won't hold up with the new 427?

Re: LY6 carnage
Yes and no. Lots of people on ls1tech have failure issues with the C5 regulator at high horsepower. Others have no issue.

Re: LY6 carnage
Wow very nice. Did you send texas speed the block? That seems super expensive unless you live by them?

Re: LY6 carnage
How many quarts does that Moroso pan hold? The kick-outs are a slick idea. I've been considering going to a high volume pump but would need a larger sump like the fabricated pans have.
Noticed that you used a washer as the 2nd hold down for the oil pick-up tube. Guessing the washer is only loaded on the one side? If so, then I would highly discourage that. It's not a structural washer and the joint most certainly will relax and the bolt could fall out. I'm not a bolted joint "expert" per say, but I have easy access to a true expert that has taught me a few things, and I've done a few bolted joint analysis in my time. Improved Racing sells a hold-down bracket that provides a full, flat surface for the bolt head to clamp against.

Oh boy, didn't even have a clue from the picture that's what was on there!
Let me know where that pan sits relative to bottom of k-member. I'm definitely interested in that.

Re: LY6 carnage
I cut a few corners to save a few bucks on this cause im not out to set any hp records. Im staying with the factory intake for now be a simple upgrade later if need be. Stock balancer is staying really would have liked to put on the ATI unit but just wasnt in the cards. The PRC heads look killer but there isnt much of any dyno numbers to back up there work on top of that I only went with a clean up pass on them and glad I did cause pistons were .011 out of the hole. Going to keep my exhaust so we will get to see what a dual 2.5 setup can do with a 427. If everything keeps going forward hope to be on the dyno within 4 weeks any hp guesses? Also trying to talk myself into the magnum f upgrade now with a much needed 3.5" driveshaft

Edit, would also love to get a magnum F, but way too much for me for what is an unneeded change.

Re: LY6 carnage
That is slick. Glad to see that the new build is coming along so well! I just went through this whole thread and I think this is the first customer install of the holley trans crossmember that I've seen. Those were a long way out when I did my swap, how do you like it? The one I have, the exhaust goes under and unless the road is very smooth/flat it scrapes everywhere, especially if you have a passenger. Also, do you have to have the matching engine mounts?

Re: LY6 carnage
The B3 cam makes power. Let us know how it goes. Be good to see this build in the new LS swap dyno sticky too.
Your last engine made more than most people could, so I have a feeling you'll get some good numbers again.
