Wiring harness questions for LSX

Two quick questions then I can complete my harness.

What do I need to wire in to use the lsx ac, both the clutch and pressure?

Second, what are the common groupings? I didn't label mine before cutting them and this info would help me out tons.

Thanks for any help given!

Re: Wiring harness questions for LSX

So I think I need the pressure switch also from all the reading I have done but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Wiring harness questions for LSX

If running a low mount LSx compressor, then you want it to be completely PCM controlled. 3rd gen AC request signal comes from the connector over the HVAC box (lt blu 18ga). PCM checks pressure via the three wire sensor. If the pressure reads good, then it grounds the AC relay and 12v is sent to the compressor clutch and a feedback wire goes back to the PCM to confirm operation

Commons refer to groupings of wires to do a common function, schematics often label them as splices. These can be a number of things, often grounds, power for each bank of injector/coils, emissions equipment power, low reference sensor groups and genuine splices such as the feedback wire on the AC system

For a normal swap harness you'll need the grounds (obviously), one for each bank of inj/coils, HO2's/trans/AC power, 12v battery PCM/ALDL, AC/IAT low ref, AC clutch 12v/feedback to PCM and FP relay/PCM batt splices

Thank you so much for the reply. If you don't mind clarifying, how are the commons grouped? Like are both banks of the injectors in one group to the ignition, etc?

Thanks Pocket

Re: Wiring harness questions for LSX

You will have an inj1 and inj2 fuse in the block already. In a literal sense, you can have any 4 injectors and a bank of coils together on one. Often its all the evens vs all the odds, but theres no rule to have any particular injector on a particular fuse

Thanks for the info. I've been doing tons of reading.

It looks like the MAF, trans stuff, and O2s are all fused at 20 amps and the injectors and coils are fused at 15 amps. So you suggest 1 injector bank and 1 coil bank per fuse, I'm guessing the trans stuff can all share a fuse but the rest probably need broke up since they are 25% more amps. Is this the right track?

Thanks!

Re: Wiring harness questions for LSX

I keep bank 1 INJ/IGN, bank 2 INJ/IGN, PCM IGN/MAF, FP relay/PCM batt fuse in the external holder, fan relay fuse, AC/HO2s/trans on the same emissions fuse point, C100 A7 for your 90

For carb cars and stand alone harnesses, I split each up because there are more fuse points to choose from and its easier to trouble shoot
