Coolant Cross over question.

I have the truck cross over and the ls6 intake hits in the back. My question is can you just use rubber hose and move it all out of the way or do i need to spend some money? lol Trying to make this work. It hits in the back corner and doesnt seem to be a fix on the intake side. looks like the cross over is just flat out in the way. I was just going to cut the back out and use a T fitting and rubber hose to move it out of the way.

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

why not just use the LS6 block off plugs for the rear? Don't worry about using the crossover tube.

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

If you truly don't want to spend money, I've read of people shaving the bottom fins on the intake to fit. Or something like that. Search it on LS1tech.

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

If you have the truck 4 corner steam line that points strait up, it doesnt fit any car intake without major bending. The LS6 crossover is inexpensive and the rear blockoffs dont appear to hurt anything. GM used the blockoffs for nearly 10 years on millions of engines

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

While I was on ls1 tech I did read you break the fins off in some applications. But my version doesn't seem to fit like pocket said. Also I was just a bit concerned because they always bring up the back 2 cylinders leaning out because of not running all 4 corners. That's why I figured I'd just use a rubber hose

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

A cheap solution is the LS6 front crossover and a 05+ truck strait up front crossover mounted to the rear. Connect the F/R with a T

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

I may have to try that just wanted to bounce some ideas around since just using a rubber hose isn't the best solution but if it works.. lol

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

If you're not pushing the setup, why bother? My supercharged 6.0 used the rear blockoffs on a very aggressive tune and had no detonation issues

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

I actually used my summit bucks and just got the ls6 crossover and the block offs. Since I was already up there I figured I should just grab them.

Re: Coolant Cross over question.

I actually just went through this just for people that may also run into this issue (ls1 intake though)

I bent the tube down on the passenger rear until it sat on the vally cover, then ground the intake a tad (be careful its thin). Then for the front exit it basically points at the throttle body. I was able to twist it and bend it down so I can route it under the throttle body. I drilled and tapped above the water pump inlet for the steam tube.
