Stock Cruise Control with a LS swap

If I feed the factory cruise control module a 2k ppm signal and find a cable of the appropriate length to connect to the LS1 throttlebody, does anyone know of a reason why the factory cruise control wouldn't work?

I have a fully programmable set of gauges so setting the signal to both the cluster and cruise module to 2k ppm is an option. And it looks like the stock cable will connect to the throttlebody. I also have a SGI-5 box in case I want to run the guages at a different pulse than the cruise.

Just wondering if anyone has tried this and what the results were.

Re: Stock Cruise Control with a LS swap

this is one of my projects to finish for this spring. from what i understand, it doesn't matter whether its 2k or 4k, just needs speed signal. i modified my ls1 throttle cable bracket to accept the L98 cruise cable. it is plenty long to work.

last time i crawled under my dash i was having trouble locating the correct wires to connect. just need to start tracing and get the right two spliced together i guess!

i had asked this question before and pocket was very sure it would work, so that's good enough for me!

Re: Stock Cruise Control with a LS swap

I welded a tab on the Fbody throttle ear to accept the 3rd gen cruise cable for a customer. It used the 4000ppm speedo signal. he reported it didnt work but never brought it back for me to troubleshoot, so I give it a maybe

If your gauge can output 2000ppm, then it WILL work. The system is independent of the engine. Only question is the signal

Re: Stock Cruise Control with a LS swap

Ok so I have an 87 burb with 5.3. 700r4 drive by cable . Have a cruise control module from 06 v6 Chevy an original column switch . Everything test correct on the 8 of the 9 wire plug. The 9th wire is the vss. I am using vss01-4160 which is an 8000 ppm signal . How would I know if my tuner programmed my Ecm right? I know have capabilities to program.

My speedometer is correct as well as my Ecm speedometer reading, the speedometer is cable driven as well, the tach is correct. So whom on here can help me with the correct answer? I would greatly appreciate the knowledge an help from any1.

Thank you for your time
