94 LT1 swap from injection to carb
Hi my names Brandon I'm doin a motor swap for a guy I wrk with he has a mid 70's stingray. We want to put in an LT1. Just bought one for cheap already disassembled already I want to kno wat I have to do to make it carbureted we not worried bout smog or anything like that. It's set up for injected right now but we don't want to put all the wiring in the sting ray cuz it's all numbers matching car. We wana modify as little as possible to the car itself it already has a 350 carb. Any help would be great seen it done on ls1 blocks

Basically you need a carb manifold. GMPP makes one. You can then drop a distributor in (after you remove the stock drive plug). That is all that is really needed for it to run with a carb. If you wanted to keep the opti, then there is more work needed...but it sounds like you don't want to do that. What accessory drive are you using? I'm pretty sure standard SBC stuff doesn't bolt up the LT1 (even though I own several SBC's and a few LT1's...I've never tried). Corvette accessories are on the drivers side, B/F-body are on the passenger side (very similar but not the same).

Yes, opti=optispark=distributor. It is on the front of the motor, driven by a pin on the camshaft.
As far as accessories, alternator, power steering pump, ac compressor. The water pump is driven with a shaft out the front of the optispark.

You have to use the LT1 water pump along with the accessories unless you can fab something else up somehow. Opti would only be needed if you were using the PCM. Honestly, I would think you would be better off with the fuel injection. The car won't be numbers matching anymore if you swap the engine.

We're no tearing the number matching block apart for that reason so we could always change motor bak. And we don't wana add all the electrical **** and computer. Wana keep it old school. But new school
